FREAKY FRIDAY Set for Additional Regional Productions at La Jolla and Cleveland Playhouse

Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's new musical adaptation of FREAKY FRIDAY is set for a second regional production at the Cleveland Playhouse for the spring of 2017. This announcement confirms that FREAKY FRIDAY will not be heading to Broadway and will continue to follow the MTI trajectory. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical will also play the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA this fall.

? In 1916, Woodrow Wilson was President and Europe was in the thick of World War I. The State of Montana elected the first woman representative in Congress and the U.S. National Park Service was created by an act of Congress. Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, and Mae Marsh were some of the entertainment stars of the day, appearing on marquees across the country. In the midst of the silent film era, the Regent Theatre first opened its doors on April 24, 1916. A state of the art theater at the time, it was said "There is no city or town that can boast of a more beautiful motion picture theatre."

The Disc Jockey Was A Lady, a new play with music written by, and starring Dolly Ellen Friedman will be presented at the Bruno Walter Auditorium (Lincoln Center Library of the Performing Arts), 40 Lincoln Plaza - Enter on Amsterdam at 65th Street) at 158 West 72nd Street (bet Broadway -Columbus Ave) on Thursday, April 14th at 6:00pm. Admission is Free for this delightful, fun, warm and heart-full show that features songs of the forties from such composers as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and Rodgers and Hart and others. The show also features musical theatre veteran actor Ross Hewitt. It is directed by Alyson Reim and staged by Broadway choreographer Sharon Halley. Phil Hall is the Musical director and arranger.
