The Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival will present on August 7 the new musical The Lost Girl, a compelling and inventive story about the Darling children 25 years after they visited Neverland with Peter Pan.
Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will present the first act of ONE WAY, a new musical from MTF's developmental residency program. ONE WAY is written by MTF founding members Christopher Staskel (book & lyrics) and Benjamin Bonnema (book & music).
The event will be on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, 721 Broadway in the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program ("GMTWP") Black Box Theatre, 2nd floor, followed by a meet-and-greet with the writers and performers.
What happens when a composer and a lyricist have to write a song from a new musical (invented on the spot), in a style determined by the spin of the dreaded Genre Wheel . . . in 20 minutes? Brain-frying fun! Brave musical theater composers and lyricists Kevin Ray, Arianna Rose, Dan Wolpow, Adam Spiegel, Andy Roninson, and Drew Fornarola will step up to the creative plate in the April 7 premiere of the exciting new songwriting competition TUNE IN TIME at Stage 72 (formerly The Triad) at 7pm. The finals will be on April 14 at 7pm.
