Rogers Park-area theatres BoHo Theatre, The Factory Theater, Lifeline Theatre, the side project, and Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre return for an eighth year to offer a flexible subscription pass to see a variety of Rogers Park productions throughout the season, running from September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2016. Dubbed "Chicago's answer to off-Broadway" by the Chicago Sun-Times, the quintet of companies garnered four Non-Equity Jeff Awards out of twenty-three nominations during the 2014-2015 season and are thrilled to share their neighborhood's commitment to excellence with the entire community, by offering this discounted pass with up to 75% savings over regular single tickets.

Born in a very small town in Indiana, the youngest of 8 children, Ira Lee began singing on the radio with his sister when they were kids. After studying at Chicago's Goodman Theatre, he moved to New York where he appeared off-Broadway and in regional theatre, and even opened for the great Dawn Hampton in the '60s. After many years of performing, he took a 25-year hiatus from show business, re-appearing a few years ago with several successful cabaret appearances in NYC. Now 79, Ira Lee shares his life-time of experience with humor and joy.

Eddie Bruce takes over the Boardwalk on Thursday nights this summer when he headlines at Resorts Casino and Hotel in the Screening Room for their Thursday Night Summer Concert Series. With four different themed shows, this popular entertainer will delight audiences at 8 p.m. on July 16 with 'Bruce on Broadway', July 23 with 'Bruce on Sinatra', July 30 with 'Bruce on Bennett' and on August 6th with 'Eddie's Favorites - from the Beatles to Buble'. The August 6th concert is Eddie's birthday and guests can share in the celebration with lots of surprises and birthday cupcakes for all. With music direction by Tom Adams, he'll be joined by pianist Tom Adams, bassist Andy Lalasis, drummer Grant MacAvoy and guitarist Tom Giacabatti.

As a devotee of time on a different sort of couch, I was drawn in to three separate performances--from Michael Shea, Stacie Koby, and Amber Petty--seeking some music therapy to get me through the tail end of a long winter.
