Lyric Unlimited is thrilled to present the U.S. premiere of The Scorpions' Sting, an opera for families and young people with music and libretto from acclaimed Canadian composer Dean Burry. The opera follows a group of archaeology students and their professor as they uncover the Lost Temple of Isis, the ancient Egyptian goddess of healing. A mythic tale unfolds as they discover the ancient hieroglyphics, and the students learn the importance of knowledge and the power of forgiveness. The production is ideal for families with children ages 7-12.

USA Network today announced that critically-acclaimed drama series MR. ROBOT will return for its 10-episode third season on Wednesday, October 11 at 10/9c. George Frideric Handel composed the opera seria, ALCINA, for a 1735 premiere at London's Covent Garden. Handel's anonymous librettist based his text on Riccardo Broschi's 1728 book for L'ISOLA DI ALCINA. Three years following its 1735 run, ALCINA was revived but after that it fell dormant until the twentieth century. On July 29, 2017, Santa Fe Opera premiered a co-production of ALCINA with the National Opera of Bordeaux and the Teatro Real of Madrid.
At a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier today, the Shaw Festival honoured former Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell's fourteen year tenure by renaming the Studio Theatre. In front of an audience of donors, company members and patrons, the space was officially christened the Jackie Maxwell Studio Theatre just days before Middletown takes residency for the season.
