Photo Flash: Clubbed Thumb's DOT and FIVE GENOCIDES

Obie Award-winning Clubbed Thumb proudly presents Summerworks 2010, their 15th annual festival of new plays, from June 2 to 26, 2010, at the Ohio Theatre. The festival's three shows will run consecutively, Sundays-Saturdays at 8pm (no shows on Wednesdays). Dot, written by Kate E. Ryan and directed by Anne Kauffman, plays June 6 - 12, Five Genocides, written by Samuel D. Hunter and directed by Davis McCallum, plays June 13 - 19 and The Small, written by Anne Washburn and directed by Les Waters, plays June 20 - 26.

Edie Falco and Alison Pill to Star in NAKED ANGELS' This Wide Night, Opens 5/16

Two-time Golden Globe and three-time Emmy Award-winner Edie Falco and Tony nominee Alison Pill will star in the NAKED ANGELS-produced American premiere of This Wide Night, by Blackburn Prize-winning playwright Chloe Moss, directed by Anne Kauffman. Previews begin May 8, 2010 and the play will officially open at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street) on May 16, 2010. This Wide Night will run through June 20, 2010.

Elizabeth Marvel Leads MTC's THAT FACE; Premieres 4/29

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Polly Stenham's THAT FACE will be directed by Sarah Benson (Blasted, Artistic Director of Soho Rep) and will feature three-time Obie winner Elizabeth Marvel (Top Girls, 50 Words). THAT FACE will begin previews on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I for a Tuesday, May 18, 2010 opening night.

Vineyard Theatre Opens 2010-2011 Season With MIDDLETOWN, Previews 10/6

The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) will opens its 2010-11 season with the world premiere of MIDDLETOWN, a play written by Will Eno (THOM PAIN), and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director for the Vineyard Theatre. Previews are to begin October 6, with an official opening night and casting TBA.

O'Neil Center Names 2010 NPC Selections; Uhry et al. Named Playwrights in Residence

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that seven plays will be developed at the 2010 National Playwrights Conference under the leadership of artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg. The selected playwrights will spend the month of July at the O'Neill's Waterford, Connecticut campus developing and presenting staged readings of their work during the NPC's 46th season. Box office and online ticket sales open Wednesday, June 9; advance ticket sales will be available to O'Neill Members beginning Monday, May 17.

TRTC Closes the Curtain on the World Premiere of ORESTES, A TRAGIC ROMP, 4/11

Following a highly successful run at the Folger Theatre in Washington D.C., Two River Theater Co. will close the curtain on the world premiere of Orestes A Tragic Romp, Anne Washburn's razor sharp modern adaptation of the Greek tragedy by Euripides, directed by Two River Artistic Director Aaron Posner on April 11th.

Waters Directed STRANGE DEVICES Ends Run at Berkeley Rep, 4/11

Berkeley Repertory Theatre will end the run of the world premiere of Naomi Iizuka's new play CONCERNING STRANGE DEVICES FROM THE DISTANT WEST on April 11. The show explores the intersection of art and authenticity.
