The next morning, SATURDAY, MAY 19, Freeform will simulcast a 'Good Morning America' extended edition coverage of the royal nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle starting at 5:00 a.m. EDT/2:00 a.m. PDT.

Mike Birbiglia's return to off-Broadway in The New One is extending. On Wednesday, the run at the Cherry Lane Theatre sold out within hours of being put on sale. Even Birbiglia was a little taken aback, directing his Twitter followers to keep refreshing their browser because he didn't think it was possible it could sell out that quickly. The New One producer Mike Lavoie said, 'I haven't seen anything like this since we produced Oh, Hello at the Cherry Lane. It was then that we knew that we had a potential hit Broadway show and that's exactly what happened. Looks like Broadway may be in the future for The New One as well.' In the meantime, The New One is extending two more weeks. There's another show coming in to the Cherry Lane on August 27, so August 25 is absolutely the last performance there will be at this location.

Terror Films has teamed up with Romanian filmmaker Adrian Tofei, to expand the release of his award-winning film BE MY CAT: A FILM FOR ANNE. The film, which had been previously self-released by Tofei onto a few digital platforms, will receive a wider release by Terror Films on Friday, April 27.  The genre distributor is unveiling the newly revised poster and disturbing trailer prior to its latest release.

TIME has just revealed the 2018 TIME 100, its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The issue has six worldwide covers, each highlighting a member of the TIME 100: Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Roger Federer, Tarana Burke, Satya Nadella, and Tiffany Haddish. The Old Globe will present a free, one-night-only event to celebrate the debut of a new book by legendary Globe Associate Artist Marion Ross  titled My Days Happy and Otherwise. This evening of storytelling with Ms. Ross and Associate Artistic Director Eric Keen-Louie will take place on Monday, April 16, at 7:00 p.m., on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage of the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. My Days Happy and Otherwise, by Ms. Ross with David Laurell, and a foreword by Ron Howard, will be available for purchase after the event, and Ms. Ross will be available to sign copies.

NACL Theatre presents the New York City premiere of SHAKESPEARE'S WILL by award-winning Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, whose acclaimed play Of Human Bondage premiered at Signature Theatre in a Soulpepper production in 2017. It stars Tannis Kowalchuk as Anne Hathaway, the woman who married William Shakespeare.  Directed by Mimi McGurl, performances run though April 1 at HERE.

Trinity Repertory Company is proud to announce the commission of a number of new playwrights and artists, including George Brant to write the stage version of The New York Times bestseller The Prince of Providence: The Life and Times of Buddy Cianci, America's Most Notorious Mayor, Some Wiseguys, and the Feds by Mike Stanton. Trinity Rep obtained the underlying rights to the book from Stanton and subsequently commissioned Brant to create a play or musical adaptation. The resulting script will go through a series of workshops to prepare it for production on the Trinity Rep stage in a future season. Casting will be announced at a future date. The book, which came out in 2004, examines the life and notorious political story of Buddy Cianci, the two-term mayor whose corruption led to federal investigations.

Marin Shakespeare Company, Marin County's only professional Shakespeare theatre, announces its 2018 outdoor summer season - a season exploring complex and compelling men and women. Presented under the summer stars, Marin Shakespeare's 29th season includes "Hamlet," "Shakespeare's Will," a spirited and sensual imagining of the life of Anne Hathaway by Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, and "Pericles." The 2018 season is in partial repertory, with performances beginning in May and ending early August. There will be some Thursday evening performances this year. The theatre plans to make major renovations to the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre following the 2018 summer season.
