Each December, LAFCA members vote on the year's Achievement Awards, honoring screen excellence on both sides of the camera. The Detroit Film Critics Association has announced the nominees for its annual end-of-year awards. NINE received a nod for Marion Cotillard as best supporting actress. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Mavis Spencer as its selection as Miss Golden Globe for 'The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards' to be telecast live on NBC on Sunday, January 17, 2010. HFPA President Philip Berk made the announcement at the Second Annual Golden Globes Party Saluting Young Hollywood, which took place at Nobu West Hollywood on December 8. Traditionally, Miss Golden Globe, who assists in the Golden Globes ceremony, is the daughter of a well-known celebrity.
The Golden Satellite Nominations were announced today and the film version of Maury Yeston's 'Nine' received 11 nominations, inclduing Best Motion Picture and Best Director for Rob Marshall. In addition, television favorite 'Glee' received 5 nominations including Best Television Series, Best Actor in a Series for Matthew Morrison and Best Actress in a Series Lea Michele.

The evening benefited multiple charities supporting LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) youth. Dinner and dancing followed at City Hall.
