This Mother's Day weekend, Sarah Bush Dance Project presents Rocked By Women, May 9-11, 2014 at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco. Uplifting, bold, poetic, this contemporary dance company shares a powerful story paying homage to the fearless women from the Feminist Movement, Women's Music and beyond. Inspired by pioneers from the 1970s to today, the work celebrates female artists and leaders who remind us of the courage it takes to live fully as women.

Brooklyn, New York based trio Pearl and the Beard brings their genre-bending sound to the Capitol Center for the Arts Spotlight Cafe as part of the On The Edge series tonight, February 21, at 7:30pm. The group's three-part vocal harmonies and eclectic instrumentation, featuring a mix of cello, guitar, glockenspiel, and drums, has been heard on NPR's World Cafe and earned the group opening spots for singer-songwriters Ani DiFranco and Ingrid Michaelson.
