THE MYSTERIES: GENESIS Hits Sydney Theatre Company 20 November To 19 December

In their first Main Stage production, Sydney Theatre Company's permanent ensemble of actors, The Residents, present stories from the big dawn; the Creation, the Fall, the Expulsion from Eden, Cain and Abel and Noah's Ark. The Mysteries: Genesis reflects the theatrical origins of the medieval Mystery plays as popular spectacles produced by tradesmen's guilds. The production is at Wharf 2 from 20 November, directed by Matthew Lutton, STC's Co Artistic Director Andrew Upton and Associate Director Tom Wright.
Cate Blanchett's 'Indian Summer' To Proceed

IMDB News is reporting that Cate Blanchett's new film, Indian Summer, is one step closer to receiving the blessing of Indian film officials and will, therefore, resume production following a final review of the film's plot and script. Indian Summer center's on Lady Edwina Mountbatten's alleged affair with India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Indian film officials feared that the film would portray the beloved Prime Minister disrespectfully and had blocked access to certain key filming locations until they fully reviewed of the project.

The Almeida Theatre Company, who have been invited to take part in the Ingmar Bergman International Theatre Festival at the Dramaten (Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden) in Stockholm, will perform a rehearsed reading, script in hand, of Bergman's Through A Glass Darkly, adapted for the stage by Andrew Upton, under the Direction of Michael Attenborough.

Sydney Theatre Company's forthcoming production of A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, directed by Liv Ullmann, is to tour to the United States. The production which will play at Sydney Theatre from 1 September to 10 October 2009, featuring STC Co-Artistic Director Cate Blanchett as Blanche DuBois, and will run at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington from 29 October to 21 November 2009 and Brooklyn Academy Of Music (BAM), New York from 27 November to 20 December 2009.
