NBC's longest-running primetime series, Dateline NBC, begins its 27th season on Friday, September 28, with an all-new broadcast at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT. Leading up to the series premiere, Oxygen will run an all-day Dateline: Secrets Uncovered marathon.

NBC News' Dateline will air a special hour this Sunday that culminates a months-long, in-depth report on the growing homeless epidemic affecting half a million Americans. NBC News' Craig Melvin's report, City of Angels, airs this Sunday, August 19 at 7 p.m. ET/PT, 6 p.m. CT, and features an eye-opening tour of Skid Row, the nation's epicenter of homelessness. Melvin speaks with California residents of the San Fernando Valley and Venice who are struggling to deal with the influx of homeless people into residential neighborhoods, andLos Angeles Times award-winning columnist Steve Lopez, who writes extensively about the crisis. Catherine Oxenberg reveals to NBC News' Megyn Kelly, in an exclusive in-depth interview, new details about her daughter, India, following NXIVM founder Keith Raniere's arrest, for a special “Dateline NBC” on Monday, August 6 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT. During the primetime hour, titled, “A Mother's Mission,” former actress Oxenberg shares the full story, for the first time, of how she tried to save India, who Catherine says was brainwashed by the controversial self-help group for several years. Oxenberg will also sit down with Kelly for an exclusive live interview on NBC's “Megyn Kelly TODAY” on Tuesday, August 7 at 9 a.m. ET.

“Dateline NBC” topped ABC's “20/20” across the board in A18-49, A25-54 and total viewers for the sixth consecutive sweep period, its best winning streak ever over ABC. NBC's Friday newsmagazine won the A18-49 demo, averaging 832,000 viewers, leading '20/20' by +45,000 (+6%).

DATELINE NBC To Air Special On Jonestown Massacre This Friday

“Dateline NBC” topped ABC's “20/20” across the board for the fifth consecutive quarter, posting its largest 2Q lead over ABC in total viewers since 2000. NBC's Friday newsmagazine averaged 4.1 million total viewers, leading “20/20” by +1.2 million (+44%) and increased its advantage over ABC by +40% (+357,000) versus 2Q'17. Versus the prior quarter, “Dateline” nearly tripled its lead over “20/20” in total viewers (+768,000). “Dateline” was also up +6% (+241,000) in total viewers versus the prior quarter while “20/20” was down -16% (-527,000) in that same category.

NBC News' Jacob Soboroff's in-depth, extensive reporting on the reality of life along the U.S.-Mexico border will be featured in a special edition of “Dateline” titled, “The Dividing Line,” this Sunday, June 24 at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT. For the one-hour broadcast, Soboroff travels 2,000 miles for a personal and up-close look at the border and speaks with families seeking asylum — meeting them on the road, at the moment they cross into the States, and in a shelter in Mexico preparing to cross the border. The special provides the most up-to-date news on the controversial policy of separating migrant families and fact checks claims made on both sides of the aisle. NBC News' Kate Snow sits down for an exclusive in-depth interview with Andrea Constand, the first woman to pursue charges against Bill Cosby that ultimately led to his conviction. Breaking her silence for the first time in her one and only interview, Constand describes in detail the harrowing sexual assault, Cosby's trial and retrial and becoming a powerful symbol for some 60 women who have publicly accused the television icon. The special edition of “Dateline” titled “Bringing Down Bill Cosby: Andrea Constand Speaks,” airing Friday, June 1 at 10pm ET/9pm CT, also includes an interview with four other Cosby accusers who testified against him in April and Andrea's mother, Gianna Constand.

In his first television interview since being released from prison, rapper Meek Mill tells NBC News' Lester Holt: “I think we always been divided in America where it's always black and white. I don't really call it black and white. A lot of black people are in prison, a lot of Spanish men are in prison. A lot of these laws and policies are made to keep most of these minorities trapped forever.” Mill adds, “I had eight years of probation that turned to 16 years of probation. Something is not working. New Two Hour DATELINE NBC To Premiere Friday, Former DEA Agent Reveals Never Before Seen Footage Of Hunt For El Chapo

“Dateline NBC” topped ABC's “20/20” across the board for the first quarter of 2018, averaging 1.2 million A25-54 viewers and leading ABC by +128,000 (+12%). “Dateline” also won the A18-49 demo for the first quarter period, averaging 877,000 viewers and topping the network by +76,000 (+9%). This is Dateline's biggest 1Q win over “20/20” in both demos since 2011.

Check out a sneak peak of this week's new DEEP IN THE WOODS presented by DATELINE premiering this Friday, March 16th on NBC. In the episode, a young Army medic based at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina goes missing. Police have a suspect, but can't solve the case, until an unorthodox private investigator steps in to help. Andrea Canning reports.
