The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the Artistic Direction of Diane Paulus, will present the last production of its 2013/14 Season, THE TEMPEST, adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits, and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus Produced in association with The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada, the production will begin performances in Cambridge on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Loeb Drama Center and run through Sunday, June 15, 2014. It will be available for press viewing from Wednesday, May 14 at 7:30pm.

The production opens tonight, December 12th and runs to December 21st with all showtimes at 7:30 pm. The Antaeus Company, L.A.'s classical theater ensemble, has chosen long-time development consultant Miki Shelton to fill the newly created position of executive director beginning January 1. Current managing director Kathleen Eads is moving to Jamestown, NY, where she will serve as executive director of the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.

Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Louise Gund just announced that Rob Campbell, who was most recently seen in The Patron Saint of Sea Monsters at Playwrights Horizons, will play the role of Governor George Wallace in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and American Repertory Theater production of ALL THE WAY by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan. Campbell joins previously announced three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston ('Breaking Bad') as Lyndon B. Johnson, Michael McKean as J. Edgar Hoover and Brandon J. Dirden as Martin Luther King, Jr. Additional casting will be announced soon.

The producers of the Tony Award winning PIPPIN just announced that Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Annie Potts ("Designing Women," God of Carnage) will assume the role of "Berthe" in the production beginning Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh will play her final performance in the role on Sunday, January 19th. PIPPIN is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

They met on the shows onstage bar at the Bernard B. Jacob's Theatre where they swapped anecdotes about performing on both sides of the Atlantic in this multi-award winning production. American Repertory Theater to Offer Sensory-Friendly Performance of THE LIGHT PRINCESS, 1/3

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has scheduled a sensory-friendly performance of The Light Princess on Friday, January 3 at 2:00pm at the Loeb Drama Center, designed to create a welcoming environment for children with Autism spectrum disorders or other sensitivity issues. Slight alterations will be made to the performance, specially trained volunteers will be on hand, and quiet areas in the lobby will be available for children whoneed to take a break from the show. A social story and a character guide will be provided to all families prior to the performance, to help acclimate family members with Autism spectrum disorders or sensitivity issues to the experience of live theater.

The original folk hero, Woody Guthrie, and his infectious melodies defined an American era of political expression and transformed the folk ballad into a vehicle of social commentary and unity. PIPPIN Recoups Broadway Investment of $8.5 Million

The producers of the Tony Award winning PIPPIN have announced that the show has officially recouped its $8.5 million capitalization costs as of the Sunday, December 1, 2013 performance. The show also broke the Music Box Theatre house record last week for the highest grossing single performance on the evening of Friday, November 29th with $151,219. The record was then broken again on the evening of Saturday, November 30th with $151,977 gross sales. Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's Tony Award winning musical comedy PIPPIN is directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and features choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers). The production is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).
