The winner of the 2014 Richard Rodgers Production Award for Musical Theater was announced today by the American Academy of Arts and Letters, which administers the Richard Rodgers Awards.

OBERON, the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.)'s second stage and club theater venue, continues to bring exciting and original programming to the fringe of Harvard Square. Gotham Chamber Opera and the Jarvis & Constance Doctorow Family Foundation announce the inaugural cycle of the Catherine Doctorow Prize for Music, a competitive prize awarded to a composer to support the creation of a new work for voice and chamber ensemble. The American Repertory Theater announced today the details for the A.R.T.'s annual gala - Boundless -to be held on Monday, February 24 at The Castle at Park Plaza, 64 Arlington Street, Boston.

Liars & Believers, Artists in residence at the American Repertory Theater, kicks off its 2013/14 season on February 12, 2014 with Interference, a one-night only show in collaboration with director Steven Bogart and over a dozen local performers across the arts.

Producers Jeffrey Richards, John N. Hart Jr. and Jerry Frankel, in association with the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), have announced that the limited engagement of the critically-acclaimedrevival of the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) production of The Glass Menagerie at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th Street) will host post-show talkbacks with the cast on Thursday, January 30, and Thursday, February 6, 2014.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has released a sneak peek at the world premiere of Witness Uganda, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie and Music Director, Remy Kurs. The production begins performances at the Loeb Drama Center at 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge on February 4, and will run through March 16. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has announced the return of the Chicago company The Hypocrites, with their mash-up of Shakespeare's Romeo Juliet and 12 Nights. Adapted and directed by Artistic Director Sean Graney, the two productions will play in repertory at OBERON, 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge. Both productions are appropriate to children over the age of ten.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is primed to seduce audiences this March with an electrifying new production of Venus in Fur-David Ives' 2012 Tony Award-nominated play that electrified (and titillated) Broadway audiences. When a young actress auditions for a demanding playwright/director's adaptation of a classic novel that explores sexual domination, their encounter explodes into a playful, witty, and erotic game of cat and mouse, dangerously blurring the lines between fantasy and reality-and seduction and power. Venus in Fur was named one of the 'year's best' plays by more than a dozen major publications, and called 'seriously smart and very funny . . . a suspense-packed study of the erotics of power' by the New York Times. ONCE, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, will play the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre for a limited one-week engagement, today, January 28 through February 2.

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE presents the world premiere of THESE PAPER BULLETS!, a modish ripoff of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, adapted by Rolin Jones, with songs by Billie Joe Armstrong, and directed by Jackson Gay, March 14-April 5 at the University Theatre (222 York Street). Tickets for the 2014 Spring Season at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts go on sale today, Jan. 24. The all-star lineup boasts award-winning musicians, speakers, famed dance troupes and returning favorites.

VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, the hysterically twisted, Chekhov-inspired 2013 Tony Award winner for Best Play, continues Asolo Rep's 2013-14 season. Directed by Peter Amster, previews for this laugh-out-loud comedy will be held January 22-23, opening night will be tonight, January 24 at 8pm, and the show will run through April 13.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts has added an additional week of performances for the world premiere of a reimagined version of "THE TEMPEST" due to popular ticket demand, which will now play April 6-20. The Smith Center's first ever co-production, "THE TEMPEST" is produced by the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus. "THE TEMPEST" performances will take place at The Smith Center's Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park in a 500-seat climate-controlled tent, where no seat is more than 60 feet from the stage. Performances are scheduled Tuesday-Sunday at 8 p.m. with additional matinees at 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Gotham Chamber Opera, in collaboration with Opera Philadelphia and Music-Theatre Group in New York, is proud to offer a fourth track in the nation's first comprehensive, operatic Composer in Residence program. Funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the program provides professional development opportunities for today's most promising opera composers, selected on a competitive basis. Later this week, on Friday 24 January 2014, over 400,000 new tickets will be released for sale for the hit West End musical Once, taking bookings at the Phoenix Theatre to 4 July 2015. The eight time Tony award-winning musical, directed by John Tiffany, opened at the Phoenix Theatre in April last year where it has been acclaimed by audiences and critics alike.

The current cast of Once, led by Declan Bennett and Zrinka Cviteši? as Guy and Girl respectively, will continue until 8 March 2014. Bennett will then go on to join the cast of EastEnders, where he will play Charlie Cotton, Dot's grandson.
