The Tony Award-winning musical 'The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess' makes its triumphant debut at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre, opening Wednesday, April 23 at 8 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre. Performances continue through June 1, 2014. (Preview April 22.)

OBERON, the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.)'s second stage and club theater venue, announces its May and June line up of exciting and original programming on the fringe of Harvard Square.

The American Rep Theater of WNY concludes the 2013-14 season with a world premiere of the original work, SHINE, written by Matthew LaChiusa on April 24th and runs until May 17th.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is delighted that the American Repertory Theatre (ART) production of Robert Schenkkan's All the Way, staged in the fall of 2013 and directed by OSF Artistic Director Bill Rauch, received five Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards. All the Way, which had its world premiere at OSF in 2012, is now playing on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre through June 29, 2014.

La Jolla Playhouse will host several local artists in residence in June, as part of its commitment to fostering artistic relationships and the development of new work.

Special guests Ashley Fink ('Glee'), Shane Jenek (Courtney Act from 'RuPaul's Drag Race') and Adam Kantor (The Last Five Years) have joined the evening, in adition to previously announced Ricki Lake, Julie Garnye (Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl) and Lisa Ann Walter (The Parent Trap) with special surprise stars. They will perform songs from his acclaimed CD First Things Last in addition to a special preview of The Night Before My Wedding, Horne's upcoming collaboration with Neil Gaiman. Lance's March 31 evening at Birdland Jazz Club in New York featred Alan Cumming, Rachel Dratch, Stephen Wallem, Alice Ripley and more. He recently contributed a movement to Tyler's Suite, a choral song-cycle dedicated to Tyler Clementi, the 18-year-old Rutgers University student that took his life three years ago. The piece, which also includes contributions from Stephen Schwartz, Ann Hampton Callaway and Craig Carnelia, was premiered by the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus in March. The Independent Reviewers of New England congratulate the entire greater Boston theater community on another successful year of stellar productions. The 18th Annual IRNE Awards was held on Monday, April 7, with awards in 54 categories in writing, acting, design in all disciplines, and directing.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts presents the world premiere of THE TEMPEST, produced by the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at The Smith Center in Las Vegas today, April 5-13, 2014. The Smith Center's first ever co-production, THE TEMPEST is adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus. THE TEMPEST will perform at The Smith Center's Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park in a 500-seat climate controlled tent before moving to Cambridge, MA to begin performances at A.R.T.

Looking much like an opening night, numerous boldfaced names were in attendance last week at a workshop for FINDING NEVERLAND, directed by Diane Paulas and starring Matthew Morrison and Laura Michelle Kelly. It'll premiere at begins performances in July 2014 at the Loeb Drama Center at The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University. Featuring new songs by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, NEVERLAND previously held a workshop on August 26th, featuring Kelly, Jason Alexander, Brian d'Arcy James and Kathleen Chalfant. The new musical FINDING NEVERLAND premiered in Leicester on September 22., led by Julian Ovenden and Rosalie Craig. Adapted from the much-loved Oscar-winning Miramax film, FINDING NEVERLAND, this exquisite new production was brought to the Leicester stage by celebrated Oscar and Tony Award-winner Harvey Weinstein, with direction and choreography by Olivier and Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford (Anna Christie at Donmar Warehouse), a book by Allan Knee (Little Women on Broadway), and music and lyrics by Tony Award nominees Scott Frankel and Michael Korie. Escape to a wonderful world of enchantment with this musical tale of the life of playwright J.M. Barrie, and the inspiration behind his classic book, The Adventures of Peter Pan. With his last play a failure, James Barrie is crippled by writer's block and success seems like a far-away land. But then a chance encounter with widow Sylvia Llewellyn Davies and her four young sons sends his heart and imagination soaring, and their friendship gives birth to a magical tale that will live forever.

Yale Repertory Theatre, in a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, presents the world premiere of The House that will not Stand by Marcus Gardley, directed by Patricia McGregor. The House that will not Stand will be performed at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) April 18-May 10. Opening Night is Thursday, April 24.
