NOBA Presents its Star-Studded 40th Anniversary Gala Performance, 4/17

The New Orleans Ballet Association celebrates 40 years of Bringing Dance to Life in New Orleans with a superstar-studded Ruby Gala des Etoiles (40th Anniversary Gala of Stars), April 17 at 6:30pm at the Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts. Ten internationally renowned Principal and Etoiles ballet dancers from the most prestigious ballet companies in the world will perform at this once-in-a-lifetime event!

Actors' Equity vs. AGMA - Equity Responds

According to a report by Variety, the recent union dispute surrounding Broadway's Come Fly Away has caused American Guild of Musical Artists to try to play a bigger role in the Broadway community. Alan Gordon, AGMA exec director, expressed interest in representing dancers not ony in dance-heavy shows like Come Fly Away, but other productions as well. Gordon stated, 'We think that down the road it's better for dancers appearing in anything, including Broadway shows, to be represented by AGMA.'

The Southern Theater Presents Nico Muhly & Sam Amidon, 4/14 & 4/15

Composer Nico Muhly's relationship with the Southern Theater continues to deepen as his Twin Cities audience expands year by year. Since his Minneapolis debut at the Southern in 2007, Muhly has amassed world-wide attention and commissions from such heavyweight institutions as the American Ballet Theatre, Paris Opera Ballet, Metropolitan Opera and English National Opera. Yet in his 20s, Muhly's bio includes film scores, two critically acclaimed albums, and conductor/arranger credits for Björk, Grizzly Bear, The National and Rufus Wainwright (to name a few).

Parsons Dance Seeks Male and Female Dancers, Auditions Held 5/27

Parsons Dance, praised around the world for its virtuosity, exceptional theatricality, athleticism, energy and accessibility, seeks a male dancer and a female dancer. Auditions will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 1-6pm at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, 248 West 60th Street, NYC. Appointments are required for the audition and dancers must bring headshots and resumes.

ABT II To Perform at the Joyce Theater's 1.2.3. Festival 4/13-25

ABT II will present four performances in New York City as part of the 1.2.3. Festival at The Joyce Theater, April 13-25, 2010. The Festival's opening night performance, which includes works by Ailey II and Taylor 2, will be highlighted by ABT II's World Premiere of Ballo Per Sei, choreographed by Edwaard Liang.

JKO School at ABT Hosts Year-End Performance 4/11
