FPAC to Present THE NUTCRACKER, 12/5-6

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) proudly presents The Nutcracker, bringing special guest artists, world-class musicians and more than 100 area dancers to one suburban stage. FPAC invites audiences to fall under Drosselmeyer's dreamy spell and join Clara and her Nutcracker Prince on a journey full of surprises and wonder. A popular holiday tradition for more than two decades, The Nutcracker remains a highly anticipated and treasured part of the FPAC season. Set to Tchaikovsky's beloved score, the timeless ballet delights the imaginations of audiences young and old with festive magic and colorful splendor. FPAC presents The Nutcracker on Saturday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 6 at 2 p.m. at the Franklin High School auditorium, 218 Oak Street, in Franklin.

For the second time this year, dancers from American Ballet Theatre will be featured in a special ballet category on the television quiz show JEOPARDY!. Today, November 17, 2015, in a category entitled 'Tough Ballet,' ABT Company members will demonstrate iconic excerpts from its repertoire and read the accompanying clues.

Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo to Perform American Premiere of CHORE at Segerstrom Center, 2/11/16

COSTA MESA, CA – Segerstrom Center for the Arts welcomes the return of Les Ballets de Monte- Carlo February 11 – 13, 2016 with another American premiere: Jean-Christophe Maillot's Choré, featuring music by Danny Elfman and John Cage. Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo appears at the Center under the Presidency of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover. This marks the Ballets' third visit to the Center, having previously brought the Southern California premiere the company's Cinderella and the American premiere of LAC.

Brianskys to Receive Award at Clemente Center, Today

Ballet luminaries OLEG BRIANSKY and MIREILLE BRIANE will receive the 2015 'Educational Visionary' Lifetime Achievement Award, as 'visionaries who have promoted innovation in education through the arts.'  Partners in life and dance for over 50 years, Briansky and Briane are being honored for their distinguished careers as dancers and choreographers, as well as for their exemplary role as founders and teachers at The Briansky Ballet Center for over 45 years.  Presenter will be Lori Klinger, Artistic and Executive Director of Rosie's Theater Kids, and host is comedian Nat Towsen, standup comedian and host of Nat Towsen's Downtown Variety Hour. The evening includes hors d'oeuvres and drinks, a silent auction of glamorous goods including gift certificates, dinners and vacations, and dancing to a hip DJ.

WE OWN THE NIGHT to Bring Music of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow to Hollybrook Golf & Tennis Club, 11/28

On November 28th, 2015 producer Connie Mason and Saladino Productions, Inc. will bring the music of some of the most lauded and recognized musicians of yesterday, today, and tomorrow to the Hollybrook Golf & Tennis Club for a 'One Night Only' Concert Event - We Own the Night - featuring Larry DiSalvi of The Duprees, The Five Satins and The Crests, along with singer/dancer Rome Saladino, and Broadway's Lissi Lennox. They will be accompanied by The Fabulous Funkadelic a 6-piece band that will 'rock the house!' says Saladino.

DanceFAR Presents 'We Dance for a Reason' Concert for a Cause Tonight

Tonight, November 10, at 7 pm in the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theatre, DanceFAR 2015 presents a spectacular evening of world class dance, including performances by American Ballet Theatre principals Marcelo Gomes and Stella Abrera, Danielle Rowe (formerly of Nederlands Dans Theater), Garen Scribner performing with San Francisco Ballet principal Dores Andre, and numerous performances from the Bay Area's leading dance companies.

American Ballet Theatre William J. Gillespie School at Segerstrom Center for the Arts Presents Teacher Training Intensive in ABT National Curriculum in April 2016

Segerstrom Center's American Ballet Theatre William J. Gillespie School will hold a Teacher Training Intensive in ABT's National Training Curriculum April 2 - 10, 2016. The training will cover teaching methodology for Pre-Primary through Level 3. The seminars will be held in the Center's Judy Morr Theater and will be taught by ABT National Training Curriculum Artistic Director and author, Raymond Lukens. ABT Gillespie School faculty and students will demonstrate techniques. Registration begins December 1 at ABT.org.
