GLEE star Amber Riley broke her silence on the recent passing of her co-star Cory Monteith. The actress turned to Twitter last night to express her sorrow.

E!Online reports exclusively that FOX will add two new characters to its cast in the wake of the recent loss of GLEE fan favorite Cory Monteith. The actor died of an accidental drug overdose on Saturday, July 13th.

Over the weekend, the world got the sad news of the passing of GLEE star Cory Monteith. Monteith passed away at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, police later confirmed in a press conference, however, no official cause of death has yet been publicly revealed. Ryan Murphy Tweeted the news today that American Idol alum Adam Lambert will be joining the cast of GLEE for the series fifth season on FOX. No word yet on whether his role will be as a series regular, in a recurring capacity, or as a guest star.

According to TV Line's Michael Ausiello, the fifth season of FOX's GLEE will feature four new recurring characters.

In an interview with TVLine.com, Jane Lynch commented on the recent casting shake-up on her long-running FOX TV series GLEE.

E! News reports that Naya Rivera has confirmed that she will return as a series regular on the fifth season of GLEE.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that GLEE's Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty), Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Alex Newell (Unique) have been promoted to series regulars.

According to Michael Ausiello over at TV Line, Fox execs have confirmed that series staples Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, and Harry Shum, Jr. will not return as regulars for the fifth season. Dianna Agron will also depart the series, except for an occasional guest appearance.
