Final casting is today announced for the World Premiere of Pure Imagination, which celebrates the songs of Leslie Bricusse, one of the most prolific and well loved film and musical theatre songwriters of our time.

Among them, the company can claim 18 Tony Awards, 4 Pulitzer Prizes, 6 Pulitzer finalist distinctions, 3 Emmy Awards, and 2 Academy Awards; to list all their honors would take several pages.

A new production of the comic drama God's Man In Texas by David Rambo has been announced as a guest production at The Blank Theatre's 2nd Stage in Hollywood. Directed by Rambo, the engagement will run four weeks only with previews on Thursday, August 13, Friday, August 14, and opening set for tonight, August 15 at 8pm.

One of the capital's most beloved annual traditions, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) Free For All, and one of William Shakespeare's most beloved plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream, are coming together for a major milestone: Free For All's 25th anniversary. Ethan McSweeny directs a revival of his 2012-2013 STC production, which will run September 1-13 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW).

The WICKED Tour will welcome Jake Boyd as Fiyero, Wendy Worthington as Madame Morrible and Stuart Zagnit as The Wizard beginning Wednesday, August 26 at ASU Gammage in Tempe. 

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the world premiere of BARBECUE, written by Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara. Directed by Kent Gash, BARBECUE begins previews on Tuesday, September 22 and runs through Sunday, November 1, with an official press opening on Thursday, October 8.

Celebrated playwright Eric Coble (Broadway's The Velocity of Autumn) has adapted Gray's principles into a hysterical and inspiring night of theatre called … Men are from Mars -- Woman are from Venus LIVE!  

Rehearsals are underway for the Alliance's upcoming production of the classic 1960s drama, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, by Dale Wasserman and based on the novel by Ken Kesey. The Alliance's production, directed by Susan V. Booth (Blues for an Alabama Sky, The Geller Girls, August: Osage County), will feature some of Atlanta's most talented and well-respected actors in one of the largest ensembles of the 2015/16 season. Dorset Theatre Festival will stage I Hate Hamlet, a hilarious play by Obie Award winning playwright and pre-eminent humorist Paul Rudnick. The production will be directed by Carl Andress and will run from August 20th to September 5th.

On August 1, 2015 the full 2-hour documentary CROSSING THE LINE TO BROADWAY premiered worldwide, chronicling the epic journey of the 2013 Tony Award Nominated musical BRING IT ON!, featuring book by Jeff Whitty, music by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt, lyrics by Amanda Green and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and music arrangements by Alex Lacamoire and Tom Kitt. True story: in 1953, iconic L.A. architects Richard Neutra and Rudolph Schindler, onetime friends and business partners who had been bitterly estranged for 23 years, found themselves, by a vagary of fate, occupying the same hospital room in Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA presents a site-specific production in which playwright/director Tom Lazarus imagines what might have transpired during that reunion. Ray Xifo and John Nielsen star as Neutra and Schindler, with Heather Robinson in the role of Nurse Rothstein. The world premiere of The Princes of Kings Road opens on Sept 12 for a four-week run at the architecturally significant Neutra Institute and Museum of Silverlake.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that The Alliance Theatre's upcoming production of A STEADY RAIN, a contemporary crime drama by writer and producer Keith Huff (Mad Men, American Crime), will be directed by Steppenwolf Theatre co-founder Jeff Perry (who currently plays White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene on ABC's SCANDAL).

Last Fall, the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta opened the world premiere of BULL DURHAM, a new musical based on the beloved 1988 film, directed by Kip Fagan. Now according to an Equity casting notice, the musical will get a New York City workshop, this time with direction by Marc Bruni. Rehearsals are set to begin in September, with lab presentations on October 14  &15.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, presents DEAR EVAN HANSEN. The original musical, featuring a score by Tony Award nominees Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (Broadway's A Christmas Story, The Musical; Dogfight), a book by Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex) and directed by three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Broadway's Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then), is a contemporary, intimate story of hope, heartache and the things in life we all need-friends, family and a place to call home. With choreography by Danny Mefford and music supervision, orchestrations and dance arrangements by Tony Award winner Alex Lacamoire, Dear Evan Hansen runs now through August 23, 2015, opening tonight, July 30, in the Kreeger Theater.

Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin previously announced the opening Woody Guthrie's American Song, an exuberant musical celebration of America, running evenings at 8 p.m. tonight, July 29, and August 1, 4 - 8 and matinees at 2 p.m. on August 1 & 8, 2015.

TUCK EVERLASTING, the new musical based on Natalie Babbitt's beloved best-selling novel of the same name, will play Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) this spring with opening night set for Sunday, April 17, 2016. The show will begin previews Wednesday, March 23, 2016 (first preview was previously announced for March 19). The musical, which debuted earlier this year in a record-breaking engagement at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre, features a book by Tony Award® nominee Claudia Shear (Dirty Blonde), music by Chris Miller (The Burnt Part Boys), lyrics by Nathan Tysen (The Burnt Part Boys), and direction and choreography by Tony Award® winner Casey Nicholaw (Something Rotten!, Aladdin, The Book of Mormon). TUCK EVERLASTING is produced by Grove Entertainment, Arlene Scanlan & Michael Jackowitz, Howard & Janet Kagan, and Barry Brown.

Mercy Street Theatre continues its debut season with the world premiere of ROTPETER, a new play based on Franz Kafka's 'A Report to an Academy' and adapted by resident playwright Rachel DuBose*.
