Artistic Director Allen MacInnis and Executive Director Nancy J. Webster are thrilled to announce the line-up for 2014/15 - the 49thseason at Young People's Theatre. This year, YPT is presenting seven outstanding productions, including a world premiere and a Canadian premiere, each exploring the central theme of fairness.
Tony-nominated songwriters Justin Paul and Benj Pasek and book writer Timothy Allen McDonald , the creative team behind the musical James and the Giant Peach (“JATGP”), are launching a nationwide search to cast a young actor as James (“Participant”) for the musical's official album which will be recorded May 12 and May 13 in New York City. The creators are seeking boys with unchanged voices and excellent singing and acting skills. Online and DVD submissions will be received by iTheatrics who will run the casting call.
Earlier this Spring, TUTS and students from HSMT performed in four nationally distributed choreography DVDs for MTI'd Broadway Junior Collection of Musicals. The choreography DVDs are being produced by iTheatrics, and will feature original choreography by its chief choreographer, Steven G. Kennedy. Also contributing to the creative team are Shay Rogers and Lindsay Weiner Lupi.
Excitement and pride will soon fill the air when more than 1500 students from 43 elementary and middle schools across the area participate in Blumenthal Performing Arts' annual Broadway Junior Theater Celebration over the course of three days, April 7-9.
Students from the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) will perform in four nationally distributed choreography DVDs for the Music Theatre International (MTI) Broadway Junior collection of musicals. The news was announced today by Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) and educational musical theatre consultancy firm iTheatrics. iTheatrics, which is based in New York City, is producing the DVDs, which will feature original choreography by its chief choreographer, Steven G. Kennedy.

Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at Brentwood Place in Brentwood, Tenn. The approximately 36,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in fall 2014. Brentwood Place is managed by Baker Storey McDonald Properties.
