Garden State Players Rock the Bayshore Tonight to Benefit Sandy Victims

Garden State Players plans to Rock the Bayshore tonight, Dec. 8 in a concert to benefit the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and RAINE Foundation. The concert, which will be held in Raritan High School, 419 Middle Road, Hazlet, at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.), will feature a variety of local talent covering songs from various artists including Adele, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Christina Aguilera, Janis Joplin, Carrie Underwood, Mama's and the Papa's, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Fun and Alicia Keys. Tickets are $18/ person and may be purchased online at http://www.gardenstateplayers.org/. Tickets for Rock the Bayshore: The Relief Concert will also be available at the door an hour before the show.

The Rockettes and Madame Tussauds New York kicked off the holidays in style, with the unveiling of the new Rockettes costume on their famed wax figure and a brand new exhibit surrounding the Rockettes at the world famous Times Square attraction. In celebration of the 85th anniversary of the Rockettes performing in New York City, Madame Tussauds New York has revamped their Rockettes exhibit to highlight 85 years of Rockettes history in New York including vintage photos and a behind-the-scenes video compilation. The Rockettes wax figure will also be dressed in a Rockettes costume called "Happy Feet," featuring an usherette style maroon and gold jacket embroidered with an "R" that was designed in 1990 for the legendary dance company. Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert 12-12-12 Secures Worldwide Distribution

The producers of "12-12-12" announced today that the concert at Madison Square Garden on December 12, 2012, at 7:30 PM (ET), to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy, has secured distribution to over one billion people. The concert will be able to be seen on 34 US networks and television feeds worldwide, radio and online streaming. "12-12-12", which is presented by Chase, will be distributed across networks and feeds in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Tickets to "12-12-12" went on sale today.

The Joffrey Academy of Dance Announces Third Annual Choreographers of Color Award Recipients

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, has announced the winners of the Third Annual Choreographers of Color Award: Ma Cong, William McClellan and Jeremy McQueen. This announcement follows a national call for artists to submit applications, which began in August. Rounding out the artistic talent on this year's program is fashion designer LaQuan Smith who will conceptualize and design the costumes for McQueen's piece. The Choreographers of Color Award was created to recognize promising young minority choreographers whose diverse perspective will ignite creativity in the field of dance. Each of the three selected choreographers will be given a minimum of 30 rehearsal hours to set a new work on the Joffrey Academy Trainees. Each winning choreographer will also receive a $2,500 stipend and an opportunity to work directly with Joffrey Academy Artistic Directors, Alexei Kremnev and Anna Reznik. The three World Premieres will be presented in Choreographers of Color Award 2013: Winning Works at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, in one performance only, Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 4 pm.
