Initial casting for BROADWAY WINNERS! includes two-time Tony Nominee Tom Wopat (Catch Me if You Can), Stephanie Umoh (Ragtime), Drama Desk nominee Alexander Gemignani (Sweeney Todd), Drama Desk Nominee Eddie Korbich (The Little Mermaid) and Kendrick Jones (The Scottsboro Boys). The evening features Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award Award-Winning music created on the Great White Way.

A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE cast member Shannon Lewis received the Gypsy Robe and BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.
With Annie returning to Broadway in 2012, Broadway Artists Alliance of New York City was pleased to present the first of several Annie-themed master classes on April 17th. 25 eager and very talented young ladies participated in a full day of triple threat training, including scene study, song interpretation, and learning choreography from a production number in the show.
