United Solo Special Award Nominees Include Alan Cumming, Bette Midler and More

Each year, United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, nominates artists for its special uAward. This honor recognizes those with outstanding achievements in popularizing the form of solo performance. A resident company at Theatre Row on 42nd Street in New York City, United Solo has nominated several artists for its special 2013 uAward.

Callan Bergmann Returns to SILENCE! THE MUSICAL, 4/13

Beginning this Saturday, April 13th, original cast member Callan Bergmann will return to the cast of Off-Broadway's smash hit SILENCE! The Musical as Dream Hannibal. Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run at the end of 2012, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records held by the show. Subsequently, the producers determined that the production would reopen on January 19th. After opening initially at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre in Times Square which was constructed especially for the show.

PATTI ISSUES Extends Again, Through 6/29

BEN RIMALOWER: "PATTI ISSUES" - the hit solo play hailed as "ecstatically vivid" by The New York Times and praised for its "wit, feeling and conviction" by Time Out New York - has announced a sixth extension after more rave reviews and a host of awards. The show will now run through June 29 at The Duplex in the West Village. Since "PATTI ISSUES" opened in August, it has become a must-see show on the downtown theater scene, garnering great word-of-mouth from attendees such as Alan Cumming, Michael Kors, Justin Vivian Bond, Tonya Pinkins, Perez Hilton and Ms. LuPone herself ("I was moved," she said. "He's a very talented man and I'm so proud of him.") Included as "Best New York Theater of 2012," The Advocate called the show "smart, poignant and dishy as hell," while it was dubbed "pithy and unforgettable" by The Huffington Post and "a very fierce comedy" by BroadwayWorld.com. "PATTI ISSUES" received a special Bistro Award for solo play in March and just won the MAC Award for "Male Debut." The show will be performed in Berkeley, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles between March 26 and March 30. BEN RIMALOWER: "PATTI ISSUES" is directed by Aaron Mark (Another Medea with Tom Hewitt, Random Unrelated Projects).

Celebration Theatre, its Board of Directors and Company Members present 30 YEARS OF CELEBRATION, a benefit for CELEBRATION THEATRE - and will honor four-time Emmy nominee Sharon Lawrence with its second annual Celebration Theatre Vibrant Voice Award which is given to an artist for being an outspoken ally for Celebration Theatre and the LGBT arts community in Los Angeles. Scheduled to perform are Jane Lynch, Sean Hayes, Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves, Valerie Bertinelli, Susan Sullivan, Lainie Kazan, Philip Casnoff, Drew Droege, Sam Pancake, Kevin Chamberlin, Roger Bart, Alec Mapa, the Ovation Award-winning cast of THE COLOR PURPLE and more.

SILENCE! to Play Revised Schedule This Weekend

SILENCE! The Musical will be playing a revised schedule this coming weekend with performances Saturday at 2 & 8 PM and Sunday at 3PM at the Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square.

Erin Markey Plays Joe's Pub Tonight

Erin Markey returns to Joe's Pub tonight, March 15. Known for her dark wit and absurdist transformations, Markey has been likened to Kristen Wiig, Kathy Acker and Eileen Brennan. Erin weaves together an exciting bill of R&B, 90's pop and grunge, standards and original music under the direction of Ben Rimalower (Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches) with musical direction by Tony-nominated Kenny Mellman (Kiki and Herb).
