The "Viennese oracle" (The Philadelphia Inquirer) pianist Rudolf Buchbinder will release his newest Sony Classical album, a recording of Mozart's Piano Concertos No. 23 in A Major, K. 488 and No. 25 in C Major, K. 503 with conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Concentus Musicus Vienna, in the US and the UK on January 22, 2013. The recording is a live account of Buchbinder's concerts with Concentus Musicus at the Vienna Musikverein in June 2012.

The Cleveland Orchestra announces the appointment of Mark Williams as director of artistic planning. Mr. Williams will be responsible for managing all aspects of artistic planning and programming at The Cleveland Orchestra, including managing all artist relations, programming, and presentations at Severance Hall and the Blossom Festival. He will begin his duties with the Orchestra on January 7, 2013.

New York Philharmonic Board Member Oscar Schafer and his wife, Didi, have given a $1 million gift to the New York Philharmonic to support the free CONCERTS IN THE PARKS. This follows a $5 million gift the Schafers made in 2007 to the PARKS series, which has been renamed the NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC CONCERTS IN THE PARKS, presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, in their honor.
