Also on the program are Dvorak's Carnival Overture and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. Though Gilbert has previously appeared at Walt Disney Concert Hall (WDCH), most recently during the 2006/07 season, the performance will be the New York Philharmonic's WDCH debut.

The New York Philharmonic today announced a revised schedule for the 2012 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer. The five free outdoor concerts will take place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, July 11 (as originally scheduled); Cunningham Park, Queens, July 12; The Great Lawn in Central Park, Manhattan, July 13 and 16; and Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, July 17.

This will be the 21st Annual Free Memorial Day Concert offered by the New York Philharmonic, a tradition begun in 1992 as a gift to the people of New York City. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance. The audio of the performance will be broadcast onto the adjacent Pulpit Green, weather permitting.

The New York Phiharmonic has just announced the 2012-13 season, which is set to include a staged production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Broadway hit Carousel, February 27-March 2, 2013, directed by James Brennan and conducted by Rob Fisher - the same team behind the Philharmonic's acclaimed 2007 production of My Fair Lady. Mr. Brennan, who is also an actor and choreographer, has directed performances on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater.
