BroadwayWorld is excited to report that some of Broadway's biggest stars are coming out to celebrate international stage and screen superstar Carol Channing, who turns 95 this year, in a one-night-only tribute concert produced by the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California on Saturday, March 5, at 8 p.m.

In anticipation of this star-studded event, throughout the week, we are looking at the impressive musical careers (and when possible, musical theatre careers) of THE WIZ LIVE! stars. Today, we are easing on down the road with the group at the center of the story, the four characters affectionately referred to as 'The Friends;' Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. This group has a two-time Tony nominee and comedy legend, a rising Hollywood star, a three-time Grammy winning R&B icon, and a virtual unknown in the role of a lifetime.

The Jewish Channel will continue its second season of its popular theater-oriented monthly TV show, ROW J, with a new episode to begin airing on Tuesday, December 1. ROW J is hosted by TJC correspondent Meredith Ganzman. The executive producer is Brian Scott Lipton. Featured in this edition are theatre stars Danny Burstein, Alan Cumming, Jackie Hoffman, Aaron Tveit and more!

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company presents the eleventh annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Stacey Luftig and Phillip Palmer. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Karen Ziemba tonight, November 30th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

No matter how many episodes THE GOOD WIFE devotes to technology, there's always one more thing for me to think about. Tonight, 'Discovery' spends the hour addressing technology as both a reflector, and cultivator, of racism. Essentially - if what we are shown online is primarily a reflection of how we see ourselves, how responsible is technology for making us aware of our blind spots?

On Thanksgiving Day, BroadwayWorld announced the nominees in 14 categories for the 2015 BWW New York Cabaret Awards. BroadwayWorld's cabaret editors and reviewers congratulate all the deserving nominees and everyone who performs in the great art of cabaret in New York. But today, as you munch on the leftovers from last night's dinner, it's time to actually vote for that one performer who you think is the absolute best in each category. Voting ends on December 31 and after a review of the ballots, winners will be announced officially early the week of January 4, 2016. (Note: There will not be a BWW Awards Show this year.)

Happy Thanksgiving Day, Cabaret Fans! Here's some breaking news you can discuss and debate in between courses at tonight's dinner: It's the final nominees for the 2015 BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards. This year, the cabaret editors and writers at BWW have cited 116 nominees (including duos and variety show/recurring series producers) in 14 categories. In addition, this year six performers or musicians have been cited for special “Editor's Choice Awards,” led by veteran New York cabaret stars Karen Mason and Mark Nadler who have been named “Performers of the Year.”

The new solo CD by Telly Leung - who just opened to rave reviews in the new Broadway musical ALLEGIANCE opposite George Takei and Lea Salonga - is out now on iTunes, and Telly will celebrate the album at JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater tonight, November 23 at 7:00 PM.

There will be some happy fans after tonight's episode of THE GOOD WIFE. No doubt there will be some unhappy ones too, given the subject matter - even if one of the show's rarely used viewer warnings was deployed in advance of 'Restraint'. The happiness will come from seeing Christine Baranksi get to own the hour, after a mostly Diane-lite start to the season.

Since then, Gasteyer earned raves as Elphaba in 'Wicked' on Broadway, and originated the role for the Chicago production, earning a Jefferson Award nomination. Other New York theater credits include the Tony-nominated Broadway productions of 'The Royal Family' directed byDoug Hughes, 'The Threepenney Opera' with Alan Cumming and Jim Dale, Eve Ensler's acclaimed Off-Broadway hit 'The Vagina Monologues,' and Manhattan Theatre Club's hit production of 'Kimberly Akimbo' by CELEBRATED playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. Ana also she starred as Fanny Brice in 'Funny Girl' at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.

The Edinburgh-based theatre companies and performers who will present work at this year's Traverse Hothouse showcase are set. They are Urban Fox, Heather Marshall, Melanie Jordan & Caitlin Skinner and Trig Point. They will perform their work in Traverse 2 this week, 10 - 13 November. The pieces are at various stages of development and audience input is being sought by the artists as part of their development process.
