Tickets Now On Sale for MCC Theater's DON'T GO GENTLE

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that individual tickets have gone on-sale for the first show of its 2012-13 season: the world premiere of Stephen Belber's Don't Go Gentle. Performances take place at The Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) and tickets go on sale at 11AM today Thursday, August 23rd at www.mcctheater.org or by calling (212) 352-3101.

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that Jon Bernthal (AMC's "The Walking Dead") and actor/playwright John Pollono will star in the New York Premiere of Small Engine Repair, by John Pollono, directed by Jo Bonney (Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon, Some Girl(s), Fat Pig). The production will be the third and final production of MCC's 2012-13 three-play mainstage season, which marks the company's 27th consecutive year producing and developing new work by today's most provocative and vibrant artists. Small Engine Repair will be performed at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) May 16 - June 23, 2013.

MCC Theater presents Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's 'shorts' series, The Heart of the Matter, for four special benefit performances that will take place tonight, June 13 and June 14, 15 and 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). The staged reading will feature actor Krysten Ritter (ABC's "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," AMC's "Breaking Bad"). Carolyn Cantor, who recently directed Regrets at Manhattan Theatre Club and MCC's production of LaBute's In a Dark Dark House, will direct. Proceeds will support MCC Theater's Playwrights' Coalition program, free PlayLab reading series and literary development activities.

MCC THEATER today announced The Carrie Anticipation Contest: Why Are You Excited About Carrie?. Theater fans all around the world are encouraged to submit a video explaining why they are excited for what is shaping up to be the most anticipated theatrical event of the season: MCC's upcoming production of Carrie. From all the submitted videos, one winner will win a pair of VIP tickets to MCC Theater's Opening Night performance and after-party on March 1, 2012. Shaleeha G'ntamobi's stirring new play about an alcoholic black mother and her card sharp son trying to get out of the projects has just been accepted into the nation's preeminent theater festival. Trouble is, Shaleeha G'ntamobi doesn't exist, except in the imagination of wannabe-playwright Danny Larsen (Jonathan Groff), who created her as a kind of affirmative-action nom-de-plume.

MCC THEATER today announced that John Behlmann (The 39 Steps), MCC Theater founding member Patrick Breen (The Normal Heart), Gideon Glick (Spring Awakening), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Catch Me If You Can), Tony Award-winner Alice Ripley (Next To Normal), and Daniel Stewart Sherman (Desire Under the Elms) will star in the world premiere production of Wild Animals You Should Know, by Thomas Higgins.
