For fourteen seasons, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival (HPAF) has continued to bring world-class music to Hawaii Island and this season is no exception. The festival, which was founded in 2005, has established an international reputation as a premiere training and performance program for aspiring young artists worldwide. Each season, HPAF assembles an exceptional roster of faculty artists who provide instruction and appear in a series of free concerts for the Big Island community.

Creative Time Announces Line-Up For 11th Annual Summit

Creative Time is pleased to announce programming for its 11th Creative Time Summit, an annual convening for thinkers, dreamers, and doers working at the intersection of art and politics. The Summit will be held in Miami for the first time this November 1-3, 2018.

AileyCamp Celebrates 30 Year Milestone of Enriching and Inspiring Inner-City Youth Nationwide

As Ailey enters its sixth decade, AileyCamp, the organization's innovative full-scholarship day camp, marks its 30th anniversary reaching over 1,000 inner-city students in 10 cities nationwide with a life-changing experience. Founded by Alvin Ailey and Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey in 1989, AileyCamp is being implemented in collaboration with local organizations in Kansas City, MO; Kansas City, KS; Atlanta, GA; Baltimore, MD; Berkeley, CA;Chicago, IL; Miami, FL; Seattle, WA; Bronx, NY and Newark, NJ.  The valuable summer program gives underserved students ages 11 to 14 a supportive environment to use dance as a vehicle for developing self-esteem, self-discipline, creative expression and critical-thinking skills.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@ArshtCenter) announces that the following shows will be available for purchase for the first time: Zoetic Stage's world premiere of DRACULA; New World Symphony's EMANUEL AX PLAYS BEETHOVEN: Wagner's Overture to The Flying Dutchman, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Sibelius' Symphony No. 5; and JAZZ ROOTS: LEONARD BERNSTEIN 100 AND BEYOND with Jon Secada, Ann Hampton Callaway, Kirk Whalum, The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra and more.

The Arsht Center's AileyCamp Miami Celebrates 10 Years

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County today announced plans for the 10th anniversary of AileyCamp Miami, an award-winning free summer camp that uses dance as a vehicle for the personal development of hundreds of youth throughout Miami-Dade County. To celebrate the milestone, the Center is rolling out a series of new initiatives that will enhance the experience for the Miami youngsters, including a mentoring program, a new hip-hop element for the 2018 camp and an exciting partnership with South Florida's oldest ballet school.

MNM Theatre Company Confirms Casts For Next Two Musicals At The Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse

Marcie Gorman, Executive Producer & Artistic Director for MNM Theatre Company, today confirmed the casts for its next two major productions at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse: the witty I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and the sentimental favorite My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra. Both shows will be directed by Dom Ruggiero with Caryl Fantel serving as music director.

NATIVE GARDENS to Tour to 4 Community Partner Venues

The Globe is happy to announce that the Globe for All Tour will continue to bring shows to the community in 2018, with support provided by Theatre Forward's Advancing Strong Theatre grant program. Following the Globe engagement of Karen Zacarias's hilarious comedy directed by Edward Torres, Native Gardens will travel June 28 through July 1 to four of our community partner venues for free performances in South Bay, Lemon Grove, Otay Mesa, and Oceanside. Developed in the 2017 Powers New Voices Festival, it runs through June 24 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, and then hits the road!

ON YOUR FEET! to Kick Off Pittsburgh CLO's 72nd Summer Season

Pittsburgh CLO is proud to open the 2018 Summer Season with the Pittsburgh premiere of Broadway sensation, ON YOUR FEET!, June 12-17 at the Benedum Center. Pittsburgh CLO remains steadfastly dedicated to the creation of new work, and co-produced the Broadway production of ON YOUR FEET! as part of this ongoing commitment. Pittsburgh CLO has brought over 20 new shows to their "Feet" on the Broadway stage, including the recent productions of An American in Paris, Kinky Boots, Matilda The Musical and many others.

The House Theatre Of Chicago Announces 17th Season

The House Theatre of Chicago announces its 17th season of creating "Amazing Feats of Storytelling" with productions taking place at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division St. The 2018 - 19 Season features three world premiere titles, and two returning audience favorites, creating a diverse slate of epic stories and stagecraft.  The season opens with a brand-new work written by guest artist Bennett Fisher, and helmed by guest artist Monty Cole. Borealis is a brother/sister adventure story offering a heartfelt look at the way we fail each other by building narratives to support our pre-existing worldviews. Borealis plays at the Chopin August 30 to October 21. In the spring, The House will premiere Pinocchio adapted for the stage by Company Members Joseph Steakely and Ben Lobpries, and directed by Company Member Chris Mathews. Pinocchio's wish to become a 'real boy' invites us to reconsider definitions of identity. Pinocchio plays at the Chopin from March 28 to May 19, 2019.

The South Florida Theatre League's SUMMER THEATRE FEST 2018 Opens On June 4th At Miami New Drama/The Colony Theatre

The Theatre League's Summer Theatre Fest has become an integral part of South Florida's cultural landscape, and in its sixth year South Florida audiences will once again have the opportunity to see theatre for free and check out new plays in development by South Florida playwrights.  The program's continued and growing success over of past five years has indicated to the League that theatre patrons are ready and willing to try new theatrical experiences, and even cross county lines to do it.

Magic Reality Group To Premier SLEEPING BEAUTY DREAMS In Miami

Magic Reality Group, a Miami-based international production company, announced today the world premier of a new and unique production December 7-8, 2018at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. Sleeping Beauty Dreams, a contemporary art exploration of the age-old fable, will feature global prima ballerina Diana Vishneva performing as Princess Aurora and Tony Award nominee Desmond Richardson dancing as Prince Peter.

Strathmore Presents IRON & COAL

Strathmore and Beth Morrison Projects will present the world premiere of Iron & Coal, a multi-media rock opera by composer/lyricist Jeremy Schonfeld and director Kevin Newbury, in the Music Center at Strathmore on Thursday and Friday, May 3 and 4, 2018 at 8 p.m.

MNM Theatre Co. Reveals Cast For I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE At The Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse

Marcie Gorman, Executive Producer & Artistic Director for MNM Theatre Company, today announced the cast of its second production in 2018, the witty musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, which will run July 27 to August 12 at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse. MNM's first show this year is Avenue Q, which opens at the Rinker on May 25 and runs through June 10.
