Creative Time is pleased to announce programming for its 11th Creative Time Summit, an annual convening for thinkers, dreamers, and doers working at the intersection of art and politics. The Summit will be held in Miami for the first time this November 1-3, 2018.

As Ailey enters its sixth decade, AileyCamp, the organization's innovative full-scholarship day camp, marks its 30th anniversary reaching over 1,000 inner-city students in 10 cities nationwide with a life-changing experience. Founded by Alvin Ailey and Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey in 1989, AileyCamp is being implemented in collaboration with local organizations in Kansas City, MO; Kansas City, KS; Atlanta, GA; Baltimore, MD; Berkeley, CA;Chicago, IL; Miami, FL; Seattle, WA; Bronx, NY and Newark, NJ. The valuable summer program gives underserved students ages 11 to 14 a supportive environment to use dance as a vehicle for developing self-esteem, self-discipline, creative expression and critical-thinking skills.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County today announced plans for the 10th anniversary of AileyCamp Miami, an award-winning free summer camp that uses dance as a vehicle for the personal development of hundreds of youth throughout Miami-Dade County. To celebrate the milestone, the Center is rolling out a series of new initiatives that will enhance the experience for the Miami youngsters, including a mentoring program, a new hip-hop element for the 2018 camp and an exciting partnership with South Florida's oldest ballet school.

Marcie Gorman, Executive Producer & Artistic Director for MNM Theatre Company, today confirmed the casts for its next two major productions at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse: the witty I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and the sentimental favorite My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra. The Globe is happy to announce that the Globe for All Tour will continue to bring shows to the community in 2018, with support provided by Theatre Forward's Advancing Strong Theatre grant program. Following the Globe engagement of Karen Zacarias's hilarious comedy directed by Edward Torres, Native Gardens will travel June 28 through July 1 to four of our community partner venues for free performances in South Bay, Lemon Grove, Otay Mesa, and Oceanside. Developed in the 2017 Powers New Voices Festival, it runs through June 24 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, and then hits the road!

Division St. The 2018 - 19 Season features three world premiere titles, and two returning audience favorites, creating a diverse slate of epic stories and stagecraft. The season opens with a brand-new work written by guest artist Bennett Fisher, and helmed by guest artist Monty Cole. Borealis is a brother/sister adventure story offering a heartfelt look at the way we fail each other by building narratives to support our pre-existing worldviews. Borealis plays at the Chopin August 30 to October 21. In the spring, The House will premiere Pinocchio adapted for the stage by Company Members Joseph Steakely and Ben Lobpries, and directed by Company Member Chris Mathews. Pinocchio's wish to become a 'real boy' invites us to reconsider definitions of identity. Pinocchio plays at the Chopin from March 28 to May 19, 2019.

The Theatre League's Summer Theatre Fest has become an integral part of South Florida's cultural landscape, and in its sixth year South Florida audiences will once again have the opportunity to see theatre for free and check out new plays in development by South Florida playwrights. Strathmore and Beth Morrison Projects will present the world premiere of Iron & Coal, a multi-media rock opera by composer/lyricist Jeremy Schonfeld and director Kevin Newbury, in the Music Center at Strathmore on Thursday and Friday, May 3 and 4, 2018 at 8 p.m.
