My Base and Scurvy Heart, a new play by acclaimed playwright Adam Szymkowicz, will be presented by Studio 42 for One Week Only at the Wild Project. The preview performance will be on Wednesday, April 27th at 8pm and the press opening will be on Thursday, April 28th at 8pm. The show will also perform on April 29th at 8pm, April 30th at 6pm and 9pm, and on Sunday, May 1st at 2pm. The Wild Project is at 195 East 3rd Street (between Avenues A & B) in Manhattan. Chance Theater launches its 2011 season with the West Coast premiere of the edgy romantic comedy Nerve by Adam Szymkowicz. The production will close on February 27. The play is directed by Marya Mazor. A special '2nd Story' post-show event is directed by Khanisha Foster, a company member with Chicago's Serendipity Theater Collective.

There's an old adage that says a person has at least one other person somewhere in the world whom they're meant to be with, and that fate will eventually bring them together. That idea seems to be the impetus for Chance Theater's production of Adam Szymkowicz's 2006 play NERVE, which continues its West Coast debut performances through February 27 in Anaheim Hills. While not the most groundbreaking play out there, NERVE certainly takes an admirable stab at being an atypical portrait of a romance-in-the-making between two damaged, extremely flawed characters, making it more interesting than your average date night comedy.

Following the sold out performances and overflow crowds at its first five Cino Nights presentations (of Gary Sunshine's BEST SEX EVER, Mando Alvarado's (O)N THE 5:31, Courtney Baron's HERE I LIE, Florencia Lozano's BUSTED, and Kristen Palmer's THE STRAY DOG), Rising Phoenix Rep continues the series on February 13th at 7 p.m. with Emily DeVoti's THE UPSTART.
