City Theatre Presents ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION: THE KINSEY SICKS FOR PRESIDENT, 9/6-9/9

City Theatre anticipates the presidential election season with Electile Dysfunction: The Kinsey Sicks for President, a City Events special presentation blending the Kinsey Sicks' harmonious theatrics with colorful, election-year parodies. Electile Dysfunction: The Kinsey Sicks for President runs on City Theatre's Mainstage from September 6-9, 2012.

Hani Furstenberg, Brian Mendes & More Join Adam Rapp's THROUGH THE YELLOW HOUR at Rattlestick; Full Cast Announced!

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Through the Yellow Hour, a play written and directed by Adam Rapp (Pulitzer Prize finalist for Red Light Winter). The first production of the company's 18th season, Through the Yellow Hour will begin performances on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place-off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry and West 11th Streets). The cast includes Hani Furstenberg, Brian Mendes, Matt Pilieci, Danielle Slavick, Alok Tewari, Joanne Tucker, and Vladimir Versailles.

The Flea Set to Premiere JOB, Beginning 8/31

The Bats are back and in The Flea Theater's New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine. Previews begin August 31, with opening night slated for Wednesday, September 19.

City Theatre Announces 2012 Young Playwrights Contest Winners

City Theatre has announced six Young Playwrights Contest winners who will develop their scripts in collaboration with professional theatre artists-a director, dramaturgs, and actors-for productions on City Theatre's Lester Hamburg Studio Stage during the 13th Annual Young Playwrights Festival, October 2-10, 2012.

Profiles Theatre's SWEET AND SAD Features Co-Artistic Director Darrell W. Cox, 8/17-10/7

Profiles Theatre announces the Midwest premiere of Sweet and Sad by Richard Nelson, opening the company's 2012-2013 season. Sweet and Sad, directed by Joe Jahraus and featuring Co-Artistic Director Darrell W. Cox, runs August 17, 2012 - October 7, 2012 with the press opening on Friday, August 24 at 8:00 pm. Performances are held at Profiles newest venue, The Main Stage, 4139 N. Broadway.

Circle Theatre Presents MARVIN'S ROOM, 8/22-9/30

Circle Theatre presents Marvin's Room, directed by Mary Redmon. Marvin's Room, the touching drama of family and faith by Scott McPherson, will be presented in Circle's intimate studio space, August 22 through September 30, 2012.

HOUSE Opens Rogue Machine's Off The Clock Series Tonight, 7/6

On the heels of their 2011 Best Production Awards sweep (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, LA Weekly, Ovation, and Garland Awards) for Small Engine Repair, which launched Rogue Machine's "Off The Clock" series last season, HOUSE will take the first late night slot this season tonight, July 6th.

Photo Flash: The Amoralists' THE BAD AND THE BETTER Portraits

The Amoralists are currently presenting the World Premiere of The Bad and the Better, written by Derek Ahonen, directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin and featuring The Amoralists acting ensemble. The acclaimed downtown theater company moved uptown for this six-week Off-Broadway run that began on June 14, and continues through July 21 at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater, located at 416 West 42 Street between 9 and 10 Avenues in New York City.
