Directed & choreographed by Callaway Award Winner Marlo Hunter, industry only presentations will be held on Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10 in NYC.

Producers Jayson Raitt, Barbara Whitman, Steven Chaikelson and Second Stage Theatre have announced the Murderous Musical Mondays Concert Series at New World Stages - Stage 5 (340 West 50th Street) following the 7pm performances of the new hit musical comedy Murder For Two on Mondays beginning December 2, 2013 and culminating with the Kellen and Joe Christmastime Show on December 16, 2013. Admission to the post-show 'singbacks' is exclusive to ticket holders of the December 2, 9, and 16, 2013 performances of Murder For Two. A portion of ticket sales for the designated performances will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The 2013 performances kick off with the annual Bound for Broadway show hosted by Liz Callaway and continues with Tony-nominated lyricist Amanda Green, an evening with the fascinating women from the musicals of Cy Coleman, and an enchanting exploration of duets, trios, quartets and ensemble numbers by Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein and Irving Berlin among others.

Carner and Gregor have announced the winners of the BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA V casting contest. Eight winners were selected from over 100 submissions received from college students around the country. Winners were selected by a four-person judging panel comprised of Casting Directors Michael Cassara and Jason Najjoum, Concert Director Marlo Hunter, and Concert Producer Alina Gutierrez. Carner and Gregor were not involved in the judging process. After four sold-out editions, Carner & Gregor's BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA is back for its fifth year. The concert will take place Today, August 5th at (le) Poisson Rouge. Showtime is 8PM. Doors open at 7PM.

One month ago, 35 gifted lyricists, composers and librettists took up residency at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, CT for the first ever Johnny Mercer Writers Colony to participate in an environment of discovery and inspiration. Working in teams and housed in specially constructed quintessential New England two story cottages each equipped with a piano, the teams worked on over 30 musicals during the course of the month. On Saturday February 16, the residency program concluded with a Salon as had been done each week featuring a sparkling sampler of new musicals that were worked on throughout the month. Award-winning Pipeline Theatre Company will present the World Premiere of CLOWN BAR by Adam Szymkowicz, with music & additional lyrics by Adam Overett. Staged in a Lower East Side 'dive' bar, this environmental production is directed by Andrew Neisler. Previews begin February 27 at Parkside Lounge with opening slated for Friday, March 8.
CAP21's Writers Residency Concludes

The CAP21 Writers Residency January 2013, concluded this past Friday in New York City. The residency provides 80 hours of free space, a stipend, and guidance from the Artistic Director, Eliza Ventura. Selected writers are chosen and given the opportunity to begin or further develop new musicals in a supportive and focused environment.

A total of 35 established and emerging writers, composers and lyricists will converge on the Goodspeed campus this month to participate in the first-ever Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing more than twenty new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.
