The American Songbook Project Honors MICHAEL MAYER & MARGARET WHITING 11/6

The American Songbook Project, a non-profit dedicated to presenting American popular songs in our schools with the goal of educating and developing new audiences for them, will honor singing legend Margaret Whiting and directing wunderkind Michael Mayer at a wildly original charity event at the Edison Ballroom, 240 West 47th Street on Saturday November 6 from 7pm to 11pm.

Staybridge Suites Times Awards Richmond Native Jason Marks his Broadway Break

Jason Marks followed his dream and kept 'Chasing Rainbows.' The singer received his 'Big Broadway Break' today from Staybridge Suites ? Times Square ? New York City and was named winner of the hotel's video contest in which contestants could sing either 'I'm Always Chasing Rainbows' or 'Give My Regards to Broadway.' Jason, a native of Richmond, VA, will receive a six-month stay at Staybridge Suites Times Square, a $5,000 stipend, sessions at Broadway Classroom to hone his skills and meetings with Broadway experts. He will also receive the opportunity to perform at Don't Tell Mamas in New York City on July 29, as part of Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Chatterbox live radio show on Sirius/XM.

The Amoralists Present AMERISSIAH At Theatre 80 St. Marks, Previews Begin 6/3

Riding high from their last two wildly successful productions of Happy In The Poorhouse and The Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side, The Amoralists present the Off-Broadway Premiere of Amerissiah, written and directed by Derek Ahonen. Amerissiah runs from June 3 to 28, 2010 in a limited engagement at Theatre 80 St. Marks, located at 80 St. Marks Place between 1st and 2nd Avenues in NYC. Previews begin June 3 for a June 5 opening.
