Kitchen Theatre Company opens its 24th Season on September 10, 2014. Located at 417 W. State/MLK, Jr. St., Ithaca, NY in a renovated, LEED-certified, intimate 99-seat space, Kitchen Theatre Company is a professional Equity theater producing an eight-play Mainstage season from September through June.
After a national search, Playwrights Horizons announced today the appointment of Kyle Sircus as the institution's new Director of Marketing. Beginning Monday, September 22, Mr. Sircus will join the acclaimed theater company direct from Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley, CA, where he currently serves as Marketing Manager, a position created especially for him in July 2012. Mr. Sircus will lead the theater company's seven-person Marketing Department.
The Geffen Playhouse announces the complete cast for the West Coast premiere of Choir Boy. This new production -- featuring gospel music -- will highlight several performers from the Manhattan Theatre Club run. Nicholas L. Ashe and Grantham Coleman will join the previously announced Jeremy Pope.

Horse Trade will present a FRIGID New York production of Battalion Theatre's The Drunken City by Adam Brock, September 11th through 28th at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A). Swandive Theatre returns to the backyard this summer for the 5th annual Veggie Stock Theatre! After sold out shows and amazing reviews - including a rave in The New York Times - a special encore performance has been added on Wednesday, August 13, in addition to remaining shows on Tuesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 31 at 7:00 PM. Stravelli, called an 'outstanding singer' by The Wall Street Journal, is known from her tours with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, appearances at the 92nd Street Y and her long-running Soho jazz brunch. Her new show, directed by nightlife legend Marilyn Maye, includes selections from her debut CD Waiting in Vain previews tracks for her upcoming sophomore release. The evening features classic standards like 'While We're Young' and 'Goody Goody,' pop hits such as 'Young Folks' (Peter, Bjorn and John) and 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' (John Fogerty), in addition to distinctive original compositions. She is joined by Joshua Richman on piano, Pat O'Leary on bass and Eric Halvorson on drums.

Following last year's acclaimed Public Works production of The Tempest, The Public Theater will continue this community-based initiative this September with a free original musical adaptation of Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE. Featuring more than 200 New Yorkers from all five boroughs performing alongside professional actors and The Public's community partners, Public Works' THE WINTER'S TALE will run for three nights only, September 5-7, at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Steep Artistic Associate Joanie Schultz, fresh off directing the Goodman Theater's production of David Ives' Venus in Fur, returns home to Steep to direct the company's upcoming Chicago Premiere of Adam Bock's A Small Fire. Ms. Schultz and Steep scored a hit with Bock's work in 2012 with their critically acclaimed, Jeff nominated production of The Receptionist. A Small Fire opens on Thursday, July 10th at Steep Theatre.
