The Drama League has announced the rosters of stars who will appear as presenters at The 77th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 20, 2011 (noon) in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square (1535 Broadway at 46th Street). The ceremony will be hosted by Kathleen Turner (High).

Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced initial details for its 2011 special online Auction in connection with its annual Spring Gala Benefit. Bidding for the auction, which will feature an eclectic array of items and unique opportunities, begins tomorrow, Tuesday, April 26 at 8AM at www.biddingforgood/playwrightshorizons. Online bidding will continue for three weeks through Wednesday, May 18 (with items staggered to close at 8PM and 9PM).

Immediately following the 8pm performance, Mr. Abagnale will host an on stage post-show talk back and Q&A. It's Tony Awards Season again, and I've been pondering the things about theatre that I appreciate the most. Surely, score and libretto and scenery and (of course) acting. But what about the ensembles, the special effects, the fight scenes, and the on-stage chemistry of so many sexy couples? Sure, the Tonys can't cover EVERYTHING. But the shows deserve accolades for more than just the traditional Tony honors.
