The Granada Theatre Film Series Presents SAY AMEN, SOMEBODY

 The Jurkowitz Center for Community Engagement is pleased to announce the next film in the "Movies That Matter with Hal Conklin" film series, Say Amen, Somebody, will screen on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 7:00pm, accompanied by a special performance from the Inner Light Gospel Choir. Say Amen, Somebody is a compelling look at the colorful history of Gospel music in the United States, featuring real-life accounts from some of the earliest founders of this form of praise.

Trinity Rep Presents Reprise Performance of THE EVERY 28 HOURS PLAYS

Trinity Rep invites the public to revisit the one-minute plays written on the ground in Ferguson, MO and performed at the theater in fall of 2015 to a second community-led performance of The Every 28 Hours Plays on Monday, October 17th at 7:30PM.

Photographer Justyna Mielnikiewicz Awarded $30,000 Grant from W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund

The W. Eugene Smith Fund is pleased to announce that Justyna Mielnikiewicz is the recipient of its 2016 grant in humanistic photography for her project, A Diverging Frontier: Russia and its Neighbors, which explores how Soviet Republics like Georgia and Ukraine are still looking for ways to break away from Russia's sphere of influence. Receiving the Smith Grant will allow her to complete the work, which began in 2001, and present a comprehensive visual guide to the region 25 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The $30,000 grant was presented to Justyna Mielnikiewicz during the foundation's 37th annual awards ceremony at the SVA Theater in New York City.

Marblehead School of Ballet to Spotlight Jimmy Raye During 45th Season

The Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) is featuring instructor Jimmy Raye during its 45th anniversary season.  Trained in classical ballet and Pilates, Raye's extensive art portfolio includes recognition as a prominent fashion collector of vintage shoes, hats, purses and clothes by the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and The New York Times.  

Original Comedy THE FALL Opens Friday
