City Parks Foundation Announces SUMMERSTAGE 2017 Season

City Parks Foundation has announced the 2017 season of SummerStage, New York City's largest free outdoor performing arts festival, bringing more than 100 performances to Central Park and 15 neighborhood parks throughout the five boroughs.

North Shore Civic Ballet Welcomes Spring with Annual Online Auction

The new season has arrived, and the North Shore Civic Ballet (NSCB) is getting ready for its online spring auction. The nonprofit dance company invites the public to get involved in this annual event that raises funds to support the performing arts on the North Shore.

Eric Samuelsen's THE ICE FRONT Gets Readings at Pioneer Theatre Company

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, present the fourth and final show of its 2016-2017 season, the Los Angeles premiere of THE LYONS, written by acclaimed playwright Nicky Silver and directed by Scott Alan Smith.  THE LYONS will begin previews on Sunday, May 7 at 2pm; will open on Friday, May 12 at 8pm and run through Saturday, July 1 at the Road Theatre on Lankershim, 5108 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Imago Theatre's mentor Jacques Lecoq, a theatre icon who influenced the world on movement in the performing arts, taught a concept called  "the balance of the stage."  In 1998, Jerry Mouawad, Artistic Co-Director of Imago Theatre, designed a deck suspended in a black void three feet off the stage floor that tips and sways in an abyss. It made physical and visible Lecoq's "Balance of the Stage."

With music and lyrics from the Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, the production features a sixteen-piece orchestra playing 50 Motown tracks including Ain't No Mountain High Enough, I'll Be There, Dancing In The Street, Stop!
