In celebration of Thomas's centenary, this beloved 'play for voices' will come full circle this afternoon, October 26 - when actor Michael Sheen directs and stars in a live broadcast reading of Under Milk Wood at 92Y.

BalletCollective's Troy Schumacher to Dance with Company, 10/29

MISS JULIE Runs Now thru 11/8 at August Strindberg Rep

From today, October 21 to November 8, August Strindberg Repertory will transport Strindberg's 'Miss Julie' to an antebellum Louisiana plantation in a new interpretation conceived by Artistic Director Robert Greer and adapted by Edgar Chisholm from a translation by Greer. The production will include a ballet sequence, which Strindberg specified in the original manuscript and which has never been performed before. The piece will be directed by Robert Greer and choreographed by Ja' Malik.

Jaap van Zweden to Lead NY Philharmonic in Two Programs, 11/20-22 & 11/26-29

Jaap van Zweden - music director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Philharmonic as well as former concertmaster of Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra - will return to the New York Philharmonic for the first time since his debut in April 2012 to conduct two weeks of concerts. In the first program, Mr. van Zweden will conduct Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for Violin and Viola, featuring Acting Concertmaster Sheryl Staples and Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 8, Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, November 22 at 8:00 p.m.

The Italian Academy hosts the inaugural concert of *The Stefan Wolpe Fund featuring world premieres and works by Charles Wuorinen, Jonathan Dawe, Matthew Greenbaum and William Anderson on Thursday, October 30th at 8pm. Also on the program, a New York premiere for string sextet by Charles Wuorinen. Featured artists: JACK Quartet, pianist Steven Beck, Vox n Plux, violist Miranda Cuckson and cellist Jay Campbell. Pianist Shai Wosner to Join Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, 10/21

Pianist Shai Wosner, recognized for his exceptional artistry, musical integrity and creative insight, returns to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center to perform in a program of Brahms's late solo and chamber works. The program opens with the Trio in A Minor for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano, Op. 114, and Sonata in D Minor for Violin and Piano, Op. 108, for which Mr. Wosner is joined by David Shifrin on clarinet, Timothy Eddy on cello, and Erin Keefe on violin. Mr. Wosner then performs two solo works, the Intermezzo in E-flat Major for Piano, Op. 117, No. 1, and Rhapsody in E-flat Major for Piano, Op. 119, No. 4. The program also includes the Quintet in B minor for Clarinet, Two Violins, Viola, and Cello, Op. 115. The performance takes place on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Alice Tully Hall.
