Adrian Gorrissen

Adrian Gorrissen is a Canadian actor working in both Canada and the US. He graduated from the well-respected Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College (in Oakville, Ontario). Since graduation, Adrian has appeared in leading roles in several productions such as the sold out run of ‘The Full Monty’ at the Persephone Theatre, the audience favourite ‘Private Lives’ at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, the critically acclaimed production of ‘Misery’ at the Tivoli Theatre and a modern adaptation of Aristophanes’ ‘Clouds’ at the Guild Festival Theatre’s outdoor venue starring opposite the late Sam Moses.

Discovering a love for performing at a very early age, Adrian began his studies at Young People’s Theatre in Toronto and continued to seek out performance opportunities all throughout his formative years. Adrian has also taken on production roles, other than performing, and has studied juggling with the Main Space School of Circus Arts in Toronto. More recently Adrian graduated from the improvisation program at Second City and was part of the Pro Series workshop with Broadway Artists Alliance in New York.
On screen, Adrian was cast as a man with a childlike brain in the independent short film ‘The Waiting Room’, was featured in a commercial for the Shaw Festival (directed by Aaron Woodley) and was part of Jonathan Robbins’ experimental film ‘The Group’. Adrian can also be seen as the terrified ‘Captured Man’ in the short film ‘Patch Town’ (directed by Craig Goodwill) which was featured at the Toronto International Film Festival. On stage, Adrian has played a variety of roles such as Pilate (‘Jesus Christ Superstar’), Hysterium (‘A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum’), Guiteau (‘Assassins’), John Utterson (‘Jekyll & Hyde’), Charlie Brown (‘You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown), Uncle Louie (‘Lost In Yonkers’), Max Prince (‘Laughter On The 23rd Floor’), Shrek (‘Shrek The Musical’), Max Bialystock (‘The Producers’), Elyot Chase (‘Private Lives’), Paul Sheldon (‘Misery’) and can be heard as ‘Jack The Cat’ on the Original Cast Recording of ‘Twist – The Rock Musical’.
