CHRP's Rhythm World, Chicago's International Festival of American Tap, will host 3 weeks of ground shaking tap dance in performance and education programs July 8 - 24 featuring many of today's leading and emerging artists from around Chicago and the United States in six venues throughout Chicago, led by CHRP's new Artistic Director, virtuoso and visionary, Jumaane Taylor.

Christopher Broughton, who is a producer at 20th Century Fox and the CEO ofMoxie Motion Pictures Inc.,has announced that Actress Aida King has been cast for the Movie, LIVE. The Hollywood suspense thriller will be filmed in the Philippines, Thailand and the US. Aida King will join what will be an A -List castfor the production ofthe film. ChristopherBroughton, in casting Aida King,said, 'There is a need for more diversity in the talent that is being groomed for film and television. Aida King's screen test was nothing short of a success and as an emerging acting talent and we look forward to developing her on screen, as she can transform into so many different looks and ethnicities.' The tall sultry and strikingly beautiful, multi lingual, Toronto Canada Native of Philippine ancestry, for her part, has come from relative obscurity to be cast in what will most likely be her breakout role in Hollywood and relishes the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry. Her previous experience was in short movies, but since her screen test, she is now up for supporting roles in several feature films that are currently in development or pre production in Hollywood.

Signature Theatre's JELLY'S LAST JAM, directed by Signature Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's La Cage Aux Folles, West Side Story) and choreographed by Jared Grimes (Broadway's After Midnight), runs now through September 11 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre. The musical about famed and notorious jazz entertainer Jelly Roll Morton by George C. Wolfe, Susan Birkenhead, and Luther Henderson features the music of Jelly Roll Morton. It was announced today during a live appearance from the stage of the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, that Multi-Platinum recording artist and actress Vanessa Williams is set to join the roster of 'Special Guest Star' vocalists in the critically acclaimed Broadway musical, After Midnight. Williams will play performances from Tuesday, April 1, 2014 through Sunday, May 11, 2014 at theBrooks Atkinson Theatre (256 W 47th Street). Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, After Midnight began preview performances on Friday, October 18, 2013, and opened to rave reviews on Sunday, November 3, 2013.

Original cast member and Grammy Award winner Fantasia plays her final performance as the 'Special Guest Star' in Broadway's AFTER MIDNIGHT today, Feb. 9, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. She will be succeeded by singer k.d. lang on Feb. 11, who will remain with the production through March 9

Multi-Platinum superstars Toni Braxton and Kenny 'Babyface' Edwards are the latest Grammy Award-winning artists set to join the roster of 'Special Guest Star' vocalists in the new Broadway musical After Midnight. With an impressive 16 Grammy Awards between them, Braxton and Edwards will join the company following k.d. lang, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 through Sunday, March 30, 2014. As previously announced, After Midnight will reintroduce the Cotton Club's exciting tradition of welcoming the stars of today in limited engagements throughout the musical's run.
