Wanda Stevenson
BIO
Wanda Stevenson appeared on Broadway in four productions between 1927 and 1930. She was part of the original company of *Ziegfeld Follies of 1927* (1927-1928). She subsequently appeared in the original edition of *Earl Carroll's Vanities [1928]* (1928-1929), where she performed as both a featured performer and as Bessie.
In 1929, Stevenson appeared in the original Broadway production of *Show Girl*, performing in the ensemble and portraying Bessie. She later joined the original cast of *Sons O' Guns* (1929-1930), where she was also a member of the ensemble. Her Broadway credits span several major musical revues and musicals of the late 1920s and early 1930s.
In addition to her stage work, Stevenson appeared in a number of film musicals and musical comedies from the 1930s through the early 1950s. Her screen credits include *Wonder Bar* (1934), in which she appeared as an uncredited chorus girl; *Romance in the Dark* (1938), as an uncredited dancer; *I Dood It* (1943), as an uncredited dancer; *Keep Your Powder Dry* (1945), as an uncredited WAC; and *Ziegfeld Follies* (1945), where she appeared in the ensemble of the "Limehouse Blues" segment.
She also appeared as an uncredited specialty dancer in *The Petty Girl* (1950) and in *Call Me Mister* (1951). Her film career reflected her extensive background as a dancer and ensemble performer in Hollywood musicals during the studio era.
