Think The Royle Family crossed with Elf... all set in a local boozer where the audience buy their drinks from the on-stage bar.

Theatre Royal Stratford East is delighted to announce the full cast for this year's panto, Sleeping Beauty. Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce Michelle Terry's first season as Artistic Director. 2018's Shakespeare productions include Hamlet, As You Like It, The Two Noble Kinsmen, The Winter's Tale, Othello and Love's Labour's Lost. A premiere of three new plays, a national and international tour of Shakespeare and other performances on and off site are announced together with a year-long programme of events exploring the history and future of theatre censorship, as well as a series of events looking at race, refuge and refugees in relation to Shakespeare.

After the critical success of their first national tour in 2013 with rising star Tom Morton-Smith's In Doggerland, whose new play Oppenheimer is currently wowing audiences and critics alike at the RSC, Manchester theatre company Box of Tricks is delighted to announce that they will be touring award-winning playwright Ella Carmen Greenhill's (Made in Britain, Old Red Lion Theatre) moving and touchingly funny new play Plastic Figurines.

Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Artistic Director Gemma Bodinetz will direct Sean O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock in a major co-production with Bristol Old Vic. The cast will be led by Niamh Cusack as the eponymous Juno and Des McAleer as her husband Jack Boyle. The production is at Bristol Old Vic from 5 to 27 September before moving to the Liverpool Playhouse from 1 to 18 October.

Angus Jackson - director of the 2013 Olivier Award-winning production Goodnight Mister Tom - returns to Chichester with the world premiere of If Only by David Edgar. This political drama is described as a witty and astute exploration of the moral dilemmas at the heart of coalition government.

English Touring Theatre and Liverpool Playhouse will complete a trilogy of Roger McGough adaptations of classic Moliere comedies with THE MISANTHROPE in spring 2013. The Misanthrope debuted at the Liverpool Playhouse in February 2013 before its national tour.
