Mario X. Soto

MARIO X. SOTO/ M.X. SOTO/ Mariolio

is a NYC based comic character Actor/Singer/Dancer and Playwright. He performs throughout the country in musicals, plays and was featured in Huntington Theater's PAL JOEY starring Donna Murphy and Carolee Carmello directed by David Warren. Other favorite roles include Margret Mead/Ron in HAIR, directed by James Rado, Charlie Brown in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN...Paul in A CHORUS LINE, Judah in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT directed by Kimberly Grigsby and Avram/Sasha in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. He also worked in Radio City Hall's Production of CARNIVALE! directed by Graciela Daniele and starring Sara Ramirez.

He is a featured singer on cast albums such as BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, MATA HARI and SHERRY! starring Bernadette Peters, Nathan Lane and Carol Burnett. Mario starred on the thanksgiving MTV promo as "Jive Turkey: the ghetto clown" directed by CROBIN.

Currently he is working on his own musical starring The Hip-Hoppets (his line of NYC centric puppets including Kool Rock Rabbit and the fabulous Miz Kitty "Kit Kat" Katera) based on his original characters -MARIOLIO 'N' THE HIP HOPPETS! Miz Kitty recorded a dance single entitled "I'm Frikkin' Gorgeous!!" An upcoming reading of his comedy: FAIRYTALES OF THE CITY is scheduled for 2014.

He starred as Danny Maguire/Zues in Piper Theater company's XANADU.
George Spelvin in STRIKE UP THE BAND at MUSICALS TONIGHT!
and recently received wonderful notices as Joe Bascomb/Humphrey Fish in Cole Porter's musical:
MEXICAN HAYRIDE reprising the role made famous by 1930's vaudevillian BOBBY CLARK.
