Film director and screenwriter John Waters was the host for the evening. For the thirteenth year in a row, the evening was generously underwritten by Swarovski.

According to CFDA chief executive officer Steven Kolb, CFDA member Simon Alcantara's idea to give more exposure of their growing contingent of jewelry designers.

The new additions bring the total membership to 454. “Acceptance into the CFDA family is validation of a designer's talent and it is an opportunity to access the many offerings and programs provided by the organization,” said CFDA chief executive officer Steven Kolb.
