One Month Revival Of THE WOODSMAN To Be Presented For Bluebarn's 30th Anniversary

The BLUEBARN Theatre, founded in 1989 by graduates of the SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory, proudly announces a creative partnership with STRANGEMEN THEATRE COMPANY, a New York-based non-profit, originally founded in 2010 by graduates of that same conservatory. In celebration of BLUEBARN's 30th Anniversary and the shared origins of the two companies, we are honored to welcome STRANGEMEN to Omaha for the first time. Members of the original creative team of THE WOODSMAN will again bring this award-winning production to life here at the BLUEBARN, enlisting Omaha's incredible local talent. Based on the forgotten writings of L. Frank Baum, Strangemen Theatre Company's THE WOODSMAN gives this darkly beautiful, haunting, and heart-breaking story new life through original music, physical storytelling, and innovative puppetry. A re-imagined tale of the origin of Baum's 'The Tin Woodman of Oz' that is not to be missed this season!

The original music from off-Broadway's THE WOODSMAN - The Tragic Story of The Tin Man is available in a solo recording, composed and performed by violinist Edward W. Hardy. The album is produced by Jim McElwaine, and recorded and mixed by Jonathan Jetter at Right Angle Recording, New York, NY. Following two sold-out NYC engagements, The Woodsman, will conclude its critically-lauded Off-Broadway run on Sunday, May 29, 2016 (following the 7:30pm performance) at New World Stages - Stage 5 (340 West 50th Street, NYC). The production began performances on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 and just celebrated it's 100th performance over the weekend. Check out photos from the special night below!

Rosie O'Donnell, who is obsessed with the show, offered to sit down with the show's star, creator, designer and director James Hortiz to learn about the magical world he has created.
