Plaid Tidings at Performing Artists Repertory Theatre Photos

12/6-12/15/19
FOREVER PLAID TIDINGS by Stuart Ross featuring Roger Bunnell as Jinx, Justin Dehmer as Smudge, Josh Dewberry as Sparky, and Jon Hickerson as Frankie has written an extraordinary 2-hour energetic extravaganza featuring 30 songs made up of not only traditional holiday favorites such as "The Christmas Song," "Let It Snow," "Joy to the World" and "Jingle Bells," but also a few well-known hits from the Plaids past including "Fever," "Stranger in Paradise," "Hey There" and "Mambo Italiano." Buy accompanying each tune of colorful props and costumes as well as inventive staging each musical spoof is funnier that the last filling the PART Theatre with enough holiday cheer to light up even the darkest of times thanks to the quartet's extraordinary harmonies and endless energy. Musical Direction by Peggy Holloway. Bud Edison on Bass. As director there are so many memorable moments to share I could go on and on, especially the Plaids' salutes to their idols Rosemary Clooney and Perry Como. One of my favorite moments in this show is a riotous remembrance of acts appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show which is comically recreated. For those who remember tuning in on Sunday nights, many of the fabulous variety acts created tons of laughter, including spinning plates on wooden poles, stuffed dog "jumping" through a hula hoop, theVienna Boys Choir, ALvin and the Chipmunks, Topo Gigio, ballerinas in tutus, the Flying Wallendas, The Rockettes, and so many others. This is the most fun I've had working on a show since we opened the theatre! If you want an absolutely fun afternoon or evening please join us this holiday season at FOREVER PLAID TIDINGS opening on December 6-15. For tickets call 402-706-0778. Rob Lohman, Kristin Lyon will be presenting our pre-show 45-minutes before each performance. Special guest appearance by Peggy Hollow
