A courageous Japanese woman discovers her father's love only after she loses her hair and skin. In this fearless, funny and personal show, Yokko brings to life nearly a dozen characters, merging movement and memories into an "unforgettable work of theatre" (nytheatre.com) exploring kinship, cultural expectations and personal identity while weaving the fantastic with the ordinary in her ongoing search for a singular voice.

Yokko (performer and writer) is an actor & a movement artist from Japan, who studied theatre arts in Oregon and Albany, there she received BA in Theatre, then She received her MFA in Acting from The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace. Theatre credits includeBALDY (Hollywood Fringe 2013, FringeNYC 2012), Butoh Electra (Irondale Center & FringeNYC 2011), The Woolgatherer, The Producers (ASDS Repertory Season), Odyssey (The Wings Theatre) and Othello (Looking Glass Theatre), and many others. Dance credits includes: FACET (Hollywood Fringe 2013), Autumn Leaves (Kraine Theatre) and KIZUNA-connection-(NICODA). Kaitlyn Samuel (director) is an LA native now New York City based director. She is co-Artistic Director of Outside Inside, and received her MFA in Directing from The Actors Studio Drama School where she directed Top Girls as her thesis project. She has worked with the Gangbusters Theatre in Los Angeles and the Thirteenth Street Repertory in NYC. FringeNYC credits includes For a Good Time, Call Kathy Blanchard (2013), BALDY(2012), Night of the Auk (2012) Chagrin (2011), Julius Caesar (2010) and Woyzeck (2009). The Ume Group is a physical theatre ensemble in residence at Grace & St. Paul's Church on Manhattan's Upper West Side. It was founded in 2011 as a vehicle to produce their flagship dance-theatre work, Butoh Electra. Learn more at www.theumegroup.org.
