Theater 2020 Stages Family Friendly A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, Now thru 6/9
THEATER 2020, Brooklyn Heights' professional theater company has announced a family friendly production of William Shakespeare's "A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM" running 12 performances tonight, May 17th through Sunday, June 9th, 2013. Press is invited beginning Saturday, May 18th.
The show will be performed both at Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Brooklyn Heights and FREE at Pier One in The Brooklyn Bridge Park as part of the "Bard at Pier One...Shakespeare at Sunset" series, which Theater 2020 started with the park in 2011.
In one of the Bard's most beloved comedies, human will attempts to thwart the power of love, logic is lost and the fairies (in this case, swinging musical fairies, with original music by MAC Award winner Jason Wynn) take over. Imagination is let loose, lovers are seized by madness, and the fairies themselves fall victim to their own spectacular spells. Great intro to the Bard!
