Photo Flash: First Look at LET TRUMP BE TRUMP in NYC
Making it Happen Productions presents the New York premiere of John Krizel's witty and imaginative comedy, Let Trump Be Trump. After a successful run in the 2016 Capital Fringe Festival, winning both the Best Comedy Audience Award and the festival encores series, Making it Happen is bringing this provocative new play to New York. Director Heather Lanza will remount this dark and funny comedy this month at Davenport Theater. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
Let Trump Be Trump is a play that dares to ask the question, "What will actually happen if Donald Trump becomes the next President of the United States?" It's July, 2017, and our 45th President is struggling to "make America great again." As rumors about his future swirl around Washington, his idealistic young staffers attempt to shepherd a controversial immigration bill through Congress. "The West Wing" meets you-know-who.
This production of Let Trump Be Trump marks Making it Happen's sixth production, which have included world premiere plays produced by festivals and theaters across the east coast. These productions include homes such as The New York International Fringe Festival, Theater for a New Audience's Dream-Up Festival, Planet Connections Festival, Manhattan Repertory Theater, and The Berkshire Fringe Festival.
Let Trump Be Trump marks Krizel's New York City Debut, and this up and coming playwright should definitely be on your list of writers to watch. For more information about the play, visit www.facebook.com/MakingItHappenProductions. Tickets are available from ltbt.bpt.me.
