Horse Trade Theater Group presents Martin Dockery in The Holy Land Experience from NOVEMBER 28-DECEMBER 19 @ THE KRAINE THEATER.

From a religious theme park in Orlando to Christmas Day in Bethlehem comes one man's ineptly comic and exhilarating pursuit of forgiveness.

In his latest all-true theatrical monologue, award winning solo performer Martin Dockery wrestles with his own lies and infidelities as he comically explores the profane and profound in the biblical story of Jesus. Traveling from a theme park where hundreds of tourists watch as Jesus is crucified daily to the town where a billion people celebrate his birth annually, Dockery attempts to get inside the mind of a man who lived 2000 years ago, if he ever lived at all.

Presented by Horse Trade Theater Group, Martin Dockery's The Holy Land Experience will be performed every Monday night at 8pm, November 28-December 19 in The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Ave and Bowery). Tickets ($18/$15 students & seniors) are available online at www.horseTRADE.info or by calling Smarttix at 212-868-4444.

MARTIN DOCKERY is a frequent performer in New York's storytelling scene. Over the past three years, he's created five monologues and one play, performing them all across North America, Britain, and Australia. Wanderlust, directed by Jean-Michele Gregory, is about a 5-month trek through West Africa in search of a moment of Epiphany. It's received 5-star reviews in many newspapers, and won top honors at fringe theater festivals in Orlando, London, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Adelaide. The Surprise, also directed by Jean-Michele Gregory, is about secrets unveiled during a trip to Vietnam. It won Martin the soloNOVA Arts Festival 2009 Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award, as well as selling out its entire run at The Edmonton Fringe Festival. The Bike Trip, Martin's third autobiographical monologue, is about the creation of LSD, and it was chosen as "Best of Festival" in both Orlando and Winnipeg. In 2011, Martin debuted two new monologues. The Holy Land Experience, which was chosen by The Orlando Sentinel as one of their "Best of Festival," is about a faithless pilgrimage through the land of the faithful. And his first fictional monologue, Bursting Into Flames, which is about an excursion through the afterlife, was awarded 5-star reviews in each of Winnipeg's 3 major papers as well as being chosen as "Best Drama" at the Winnipeg Fringe by the CBC. Also in 2011, Martin has been performing in his own two-person play Oh, That Wily Snake! with runs in Fresno, Orlando, London, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Vancouver.
