GFE Opens HAVE I GOT A GIRL FOR YOU Tonight, 8/11
GFE Productions in association with The Present Company, as part of the 16th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, presents the World-premiere new play HAVE I GOT A GIRL FOR YOU, based on playwright Josh Mesnik's real-life experience as a gay musical theatre actor who finds himself running a female escort agency. Sara Sahin (Lincoln Center Director's Lab; LILA CANTE ) directs.
How does a newly sober gay musical theatre actor get his life on track? By getting a job running the largest female escort agency on the East Coast of course! HAVE I GOT A GIRL FOR YOU is the hilarious true story of Josh, the newest member of the oldest profession. When he finds himself out of rehab, in debt, and in a land far removed from the chorus calls of New York City, Josh finds an unlikely career may just be his calling. Based on his own personal experience, playwright Josh Mesnik sheds light on the inner workings of a high end escort agency as it's never been seen before.
Directed by Sara Sahin, the cast of HAVE I GOT A GIRL FOR YOU is: Danielle Di Vecchio ("The Sopranos," "Prison Break"), Kim Morgan Dean (two-time Carbonell award winner), Josh Mesnik (JEWTOPIA, FORMER PIMP), and Jon Seymour ("24," "All My Children").
Design team for HAVE I GOT A GIRL FOR YOU is Nicole Lee (Costume Design), Pete Bragg (Lighting Design), David Arsenault (Set Design), and Josh Hobbs (Sound Design).
Performances of HAVE I GOT A GIRL FOR YOU will run tonight, August 11 at 5:00pm; Monday, August 13 at 3:45pm; Thursday, August 16 at 7:00pm; Sunday, August 19 at 9:30pm; and Saturday, August 25 at 12:00pm at Fringe Venue #08 – The First Floor Theatre @ La MaMa (74A East 4th Street) in Manhattan.
