Barefoot Theatre C. Announces bareNaked Reading Series - Franklin Grimes Jan. 27
In 1999, Barefoot Theatre Company was founded by a group of multicultural artists in order to produce stimulating and thought provoking theatre for the public. Since then, we have stood by the principles of ensemble collaboration and artistic risks to develop and foster plays, new and existing, with a broad range of social relevance, striving to keep the vitality of American Theatre alive and vibrant. By creating a visceral, more provocative manner of storytelling through our ensemble commitment, we provide emerging artists with the opportunity to explore and take artistic risks while engaging audiences of all ages.
The bareNaked Reading Series are evenings of new plays by emerging and established playwrights for the purpose of fostering new works from staged readings, to workshops and on to full-productions. The focus on exploring these new works is on the collaboration between playwright, director and audience without the use of costumes, props, theatrical lighting, and sets. Bringing a compelling story to full life is our goal.
Since its inception, the Barefoot Theatre Company has successfully produced over forty productions including original works, readings, as well as contemporary and classical plays.
