York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director) presents a 3-week limited engagement of its newest mainstage production, the musical I'm a Stranger Here Myself, written and performed byMark Nadler with Franca Vercelloni on accordion (who has replaced previously announced William Schimmel) and Jessica Wright on violin and directed by David Schweizer.

Performances began Monday, April 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 19, 2013 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is Thursday, May 2, 2013.

In his most personal and gripping show, I'm a Stranger Here Myself, internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning entertainer Mark Nadler explores the depths of the European expatriate experience. Using songs by German and French artists - Kurt Weill, Friedrich Hollaender, Lotte Lenya and Marlene Dietrich (to name a few) - who through their music express the declarations of identity, the resistance in the face of terror and the hopes for survival. Nadler examines the lives of these artists as well as those of ordinary German citizens caught up in one of the most intriguing periods of the Twentieth Century.

The Weimar Republic was the first democratically elected parliamentary government in German History, and lasted from the end of World War I until Hitler's rise to power. The music from this period reflects the unprecedented artistic and sexual freedom of this emotionally charged era. Mr. Nadler's multilingual performances of songs that speak of yearning for deliverance are especially pungent in their evocation of European Jews and homosexuals, the luckiest of whom found refuge in America.

The creative team will include James Morgan (Set Design), Mary Jo Dondlinger (Lighting Design), Kimothy Cruse (Production Stage Manager) and Meg Friedman (Assistant Stage Manager).

I'm a Stranger Here Myself will play the following performance schedule:
